Agreed. They created a hiring bubble in April. I wonder if they will be able to keep it up in May. They aren't going to be consistently hiring into the 175. It's crazy how the 175 has so much attraction to it.

Just curious...
They had 175 DFW and CRJ ORD for us to pick from. Lots of DFW locals in class, myself included. 4 of us from XJT, a few from Mesa, the rest are CFI and corporate backgrounds. First time I've ever heard of new-hires being guaranteed their choice of base and equipment before we even showed up. Also, the fact that only new-hires are currently going into the right seat on the 175 helps with QOL improvement...provided of course that the stream of new hires doesn't dry up. We shall see...

Part of the problem is being locked into your equipment the way things stand. There are FO's in ORD that would love to get back to DFW but can't. Whatever equipment or base you pick, make sure you want to be there. You won't get to leave until you're displaced or upgrade.

Well, there should be VERY few FOs in ORD CRJ that want to get DFW, but those that are screwed up their bids

I think it's 50% SJS and 50% self-preservation. When oil prices increase dramatically, another 9/11 happens, regional lift gets decreased or some other mayhem turns the industry upside down, who wants to be the one holding the 50-seat jet/turboprop bag. NOT ME!! If and when I apply to Envoy and offered the 145 I'd bail or wait until the 175 or CRJ was available.

Furloughs come in seniority order not based on equipment...

This is short sighted. If that happens, there will be furloughs, and that will start from the bottom of the list. It won't matter what equipment you are on. The senior 50 seat guys will just move to the 175.
