RSV time will definitely be very short for new hires into the 175 due to our contract not allowing other FO's to bid it and the fleet going from currently 9 or so, to 40 aircraft. New hires could be bidding very senior by next year on the 175 if things stay as they are.

Currently the flow plan has (16) current senior E175 FO's upgrading to CA starting classes in May-SEP, so they will be leaving it. There isn't many FO's on that fleet to begin with. Plus a bunch of the remaining senior FO's on it are about to upgrade, probably on the next big vacancy moving people up the list even more. Some of them can hold CA already. They are Probably just waiting for what they want to open up or waiting to build a little seniority first. That fleet will have VERY rapid advancement in relative seniority bidding for any FO on it unless there is another displacement bid. Same as the CRJ did years ago with new hires holding lines while E145 FO's were on reserve for years.

Even as a Captain, my relative seniority on the E175 is about 10X better than it is on the 145 for line bidding purposes after this last bid and only getting better with more aircraft coming in every month. Since most CA's can't bid it due to seat locks and the Flow, you had to displace into it to be safe.

I really hope there is a vacancy displacement coming in a few months when they expand the 175 to ORD. If that doesn't happen and I see new hires holding lines with weekends off before I get off reserve I'll be raising hell.

May as well start ranting. It's already happened in the past when the CRJ's came to NY. That's your crappy Envoy contract.

Rick Wilson made it sound like they may not be going to ORD anymore last week. It's up in the air now, The other 20 may be going to MIA to re-open a base there. (It's not confirmed) but that is what he said to the group in the Q&A at the training center. Republic situation is causing a lot of problems with AAG supposedly. I know we have almost 40 lines of flying there for May.

Trust me, it sucks for those affected and stuck in the 145. I was in the same boat years ago. I was an FO on the 145 holding garbage, while new hires were holding nice weekend off lines on the CRJ with basically zero reserve time. It happened again in 2013-2014 for CA and FO. I could hold a CRJ CA line and so could the new hires I was flying with, while people senior to me by YEARS were still on EMB RSV. Just the way it is with our contract. This is why people "proffer to displace".

So when is reserve going to be fixed? It seems the current plan is to leave it up to the arbitrator. When is his decision suppose to come down? I get we all have to be on reserve sometime or another but when it comes down to years with no relative movement insight things need to change and change quick. It's been over a year since we had some sort of temporary LOA that concerned SEC 12 that got dumped after a shake up of our NC. Are we even close to getting some sort of LOA now? This single issue has caused more problems in my family life than anything this airline has thrown at me.

Not sure what you consider "relative movement" but moving up 45 spots on the reserve list over the next 35 days is going to be nice. Now with the company using the 175 as a recruiting tool, the CRJs staying longer, and the 145 pilots getting placed in ORD then I see more stagnation before I see any movement.

But to answer your first question - it looks like we won't have anything happen before the arbitrator rules. Also, I'm hearing the NC is a little anemic with respect to negotiations.

I am a 15 yr CA on the LASA side of XJT. I am based at DFW and do not commute cuz the wife and I are from here. If our base closes at DFW next year I have no desire to commute for this place again. I've already had my DFW base close on me once before.

So from what I read on here, y'all are hiring into the 175 and reserve time is short at DFW and will probably get shorter. So is the 2.5 upgrade and flow within 6 years realistic for somebody in my situation? I still have 23 years left and am trying to be patient but have no desire to commute for this airline again!!

This has been beaten like a rented mule (and I'm sure will continue to be). Some will convince you these claims are realistic and others will question that with the belief the math is way to fuzzy. Bottom line is that no one can guarantee you anything (even a little) in this regard and you'll be rolling the dice.

It could be box cars or snake eyes. Good luck !

Have you tried for Spirit? DFW base and the pay and retirement blow Envoy away. Coming in on the bottom of Envoy I would be very skeptical of the flow claims.

Every person career is different. If you're thinking to make that move after 15yrs in ASA Xjet, you have to weight the pros and cons.

But, if you want to do it, be aware that 25 of the 26 guys hired Monday are going to the E175, they will be Sr for some time there. Once the last E-175 line holder gets into property, the guys on RSV will be there for long time. Also, nobody knows if there will be a Displacement Bid on the future and other FOs bump the guys in the 175 out of their seats. With the talks of opening a MIA base, they will need to move pilots around the system.

That could send those new E-175 FOs to the E145/CRJ ORD, and add their names to the commuter list.

Now in the other hand, we don't know what will happen with the Flow. It could take you 6yrs to get to AA or it could take the rest of your last 23yrs if your career. If you get to AA in 6yrs = 17yrs in AA, probably initially based in JFK or MIA (back to commuting again for some time). Even if it takes you 10yrs, you still have 13yrs making good money.

If I were new to the airlines or been about 1-2 yr regional pilot, I would definitely look at envoy. But 15yrs in, that's a though decision.
