There was a lot more people scheduled for the class. They told them no 175 slots available for this class. So they all turned down this class today. Only one new hire is willing to fly the 145 DFW apparantly.. And he will be senior to all the other idiots holding out for "shiney" for the rest of his career if he stays with AAG. The other people are taking later classes when the 175 is available again starting next class. Some may leave and go elsewhere. Who knows.

I just wish I could talk to all the guys that are letting classes go by for 30 minutes and tell them what it was like when I got out of college in '97 and what the job prospects and hiring world have been like for the past 20 years. How seniority means everything and what your airplane looks like means nothing. I am still in utter amazement to hear things like this, and to try to wrap my mind around how insanely different and good they have it now compared to my disaster of a career thus far.
Good times out there guys and gals, but don't take the important things for granted or discount them. Get in a class and fly the lav service truck if need be!!!!

Hmmm pick the plane that you will be the plug on for a very long time (145)(until you get displaced off of it), or take the plane(175)/class that every new hire will be going to , gain seniority, and get off reserve quicker than 4 years?

Even worse....not only are they giving up precious seniority holding out for the E175...they don't realize that when they upgrade to Captain it will more than likely be on the E175 anyway.
But to each their own. The sooner you start-regardless of aircraft-the sooner you upgrade and the sooner you flow to AA.

You do realize the one guy who went to the 145 class is the idiot, right?

How would one be "the plug". The way I see it, most are flowing out of the 145 over to AA. This creates upgrades on the 145 and vacancies for new hire FO's. There should be plenty of movement on all types. Plus, they are potentially giving up seniority at not only Envoy, but AA.
