We will never open a base in a place we don’t even fly... I can’t believe this LA rumor or even speculation is still about hahaha[/QUOTE]
Well we used to fly there. It’s obvious what AAG is doing, closing the senior bases to open them back up flushing out the SR people. Those 20 compass birds fly out if LAX owned by AAG, and was supposed to be flown by ENY but was given to compass as our punishment for voting no. So while I’m with you on rumors, LAX isn’t completely far fetched.
At one point we stopped flying to NYC and MIA. Now look.

You must be new around here, so lemme break it down for ya. It's not a far fetched idea. AAG placed the 175s that Compass operates under the American Eagle brand there back when we were in a fierce contract battle a couple of years ago. They were initially heading here as part of the concessionary deal. When we turned AAG down, sending the first batch of 175s (20) to Compass was a punishment/big middle finger to Envoy for voting no to a concessionary contract. From there, AAG began to farm out the rest of our flying and other airplanes. To make a long story short, the game obviously has taken a huge shift in terms of how we fit into AAGs regional plan. AAG would rather have those Compass planes, which they paid for, flying at a WO carrier. The current contract on those planes goes through January 2020. It's highly likely that at the completion of that contract that AAG will transfer those planes to the WO where they originally intended them to go to, Envoy. Now...whether AAG decides to keep those planes in LAX operated by Envoy or have them operate in other parts of the country is anyone's guess. They could dump those planes into the network in DFW, ORD, or somewhere else and have Skywest pick up the slack in LAX. Who knows how it will work out, but I definitely wouldn't laugh at the notion of Envoy re-opening LAX.
Does anyone know if the EDV class numbers increased? From what I read they were pretty close to keeping up with ENY recruiting before the pay raise.
Change of thinking here... What if ENY opened LAX again to attract more west coast recruits that didn’t want to move to the east coast (EDV).... that would help recruiting numbers I think. Either way I don’t think it would last, eventually ENY will have to up the pay.[/QUOTE

Wrong.
Miami flying and New York flying just slowed down, we still did it when they closed those bases. There literally is no flying in LAX and hasn’t been since the ATR days. Saying it used to be a base is not going to make it come back, San Juan was a base and definitely isn’t coming back. Those 20 compass birds are not coming our way either. AAG wants to use our options we have for the new 175s, not transfer old compass birds our way. Maybe they will transfer them someday in the future and maybe we will be doing some “out west flying,” but they got those options for us for a reason. They will use those first.
One thing to note, is that we will start flying that way before they go and just announce a base... they won’t just announce it out of thin air and start a bunch of routes.
The day we do any legs in or out of LAX will be the day I believe we may be opening a base there.
If people want to start rumors about bases, look at PHL or RDU or somewhere where we actually have a reasonable amount of flights in or out of currently operated by Envoy. Those will open before LA does...

Actually, you must be new because to think that AAG cares about feelings and where they want their planes flying is ridiculous. Just because they were supposed to originally come to us, doesn’t mean they are rightfully ours. AAG will place any of their aircraft with the most cost effective/profitable option. Maybe that’s us, maybe it’s not. Last I checked, the pilots at Envoy don’t sit in on fleet planning meetings, so how would you know anyways. All I’m saying is we are more likely to open probably 5other bases before we go opening LA.

Depends on if we, PSA, can staff the aircraft. We're having issues with MX, their contract and crew efficiencies on the pilot side.
Personally, I think they will stay with y'all a bit longer then planned. Plus we're getting the hanger queens. Not that I blame y'all for keeping the good tails till last.
AAG wants them over at PSA ASAP. But PSA is throttling the transfers and AAG is slowly getting more annoyed from what I've heard via union all calls and MX guys.
