If you're on reserve, just hope they don't call. I was proactive and even though I was the most senior FO I called to let them know I was sick. Rather do that, than be the a**hole who would be their last resort and tell them nope. But noooooooo. Haven't heard the end of it. And don't count on the commuter policy.
