Quite right. The same is true of Republic and Mesa.

I remember they flew them on the Freedom certificate. They were playing alter ego games long before it occurred to Hulas. I don’t know if they moved the fleet type back to the main Mesa certificate or just parked them when they shut Freedom down.

Does anyone really believe that taking concessions vs not will actually mean the difference between being furloughed or not? It’s going to happen anyway and you might as well be able to come back to original pay rates when recalled.

the only thing I’d consider is reduced Guarentee which equates to more days off.
The young or new people weren't around for that and therefore for some reason don't believe people when they talk about how bad and cutthroat management can be when things take a turn for the worse, and when things improve and profits are pouring in they are unwilling to give back what the employees sacrificed. When concessions like low pay and ****ty work rules are agreed upon they stay when things improve and usually take a multi-year negotiating battle to get them back.

Keep in mind these are the same "wunderkinds" who didn't think another downturn could be possible with how great things were going and told every Captain they flew with they would be at a Major in 2 years, now they will be working at Home Depot. Unfortunately I most likely will be one of those people, but full pay to the last day is the stance to take.

Reality is whom ever comes through, whether XJT or C5, who in their right mind would go to work for a regional that is on shaky grounds financially? Knowing damn well SK also wants all 145s to go away with no plan to replace airframes with the 175. Recruiting in the future will be damn near impossible. XJT couldn’t hire enough people when times were good.

With the glut right now of typed pilots it won’t be hard to fill the ranks.

Eh, it's really not. Crossing a picket line and voting in a concessionary contract both serve personal interest at the expense of other pilots. One is considered scabbing and the other isn't, but both are selfish maneuvers that come at a cost to the industry.

Would you go to bat for the SkyWest or MESA pilots if they voted in a concessionary contract to take all the flying away from C5 and EV? Bet you wouldn't.

Reality is, you are so out of touch. Literally no airline is going to have issues recruiting for the next several years.

Some people will never get it. Unfortunately I fear the number of those have grown rapidly in our ranks during recent years.

Correct, 145 is not, however the 200 still is, even though most pilots aren’t actively trained on it anymore it’s still on the 121 certificate so if Mesa needed it it would be a pretty quick spin up.
