What's the Latest at ASA/Expressjet?

Agreed. Most of the people I talk to or fly with realize that, at this point, a swift integration and good contract is the only way to go to get us to a better place. Integration is inevitable, and the quicker we get it done, the quicker we can move forward together. We do NOT want to be the regional version of US Air. That has not worked for them, and wouldn't be good for any of us. We are much stronger together than we are separate.

Oh lord. Let it be known this guy doesn't speak on behalf of the ASA pilots. I haven't talked to a single pilot that wants to remain separate. Most of us are educated enough to realize two separate groups are excessively detrimental to all sides, and we want a swift and happy marriage. Don't believe me? Look at USAirways. Some of you need to spend some time away from this site rather than letting your blood pressure explode.
News flash: we are one company. The less we fight each other, the better off we'll be.

It is true that compromise is going to be the only way to get this done. I don't think the statement that 'one side is willing, one side is not' is completely accurate. It would appear that the L-ASA probably gives in too quickly, historically speaking, and the L-XJT group probably holds out longer, which is how they got their contract, but may not be nearly as beneficial in this case. Lots of folks on both sides want to get this behind us. Compromise is somewhere in the middle. Let's find that middle and move on, because this divided group will not improve until we do. The 'stay separate or let it burn' mentality is the wrong approach.
