It has absolutely nothing to do with ego for me...It has to do with reality for me.

Dragging things out has actually benefitted me because I guarantee you our vacation low won't be as good with the new contract. I got another year out of it with the delay.

I do think the delay has caused the eventual TA to be less than it would have been if we had settled earlier with our PBS.

Line bidding is a non-starter, so moving off that position is not "compromising" with the ASA side. The fact is, there won't be a TA without it.

Fine by me. It was a huge mistake to make it a "safety" issue. I understand the pros and cons of the debate....but it should never have been a "safety" debate...

Look at all the junior guys in this thread and others complaining about us "lifers"...You honestly don't think they wouldn't throw us under the bus for their issues?

Me , me, MEEEE is the ALPA motto and I have finally become a good little ALPA member...

Well, considering that the TA won't be as good as what LXJT has now, then it also benefits us to not have a TA. But it was you lamenting that now we may have a TA after the pinnacle and AA bankruptcy. If it was up to me, you keep vacation low and we keep line bidding.

I agree, i don't expect much so I'm happy with what we got for now till the environment is right. When the company cant fill seats and flight are cancelling left and right (oh my bad that's already happening) they'll have no choice but to step up or go out of business. Either way I could care less anymore.

let me add, anyone at LXJT shouldn't be in any rush to merge with ASA. Their gonna get killed by Delta and there reset. The 200's are parking so why would you guys want to be one list and lose your job to a more senior ASA FO when we can just sit back and watch them take the hit.

Guys, are contract is still one of the best out there. Lets keep it for now and lets start thinking about whats best for us. Get these FT/DT regs behind us and the 1500 hr rule and see how these things play out before we go off and do something we regret. Signing a sub-par contract just because the company says this is the best we can do is not my idea of moving forward and that's what it's gonna be sub-par.

Not looking to get into a bashing contest with you guys at ASA everyone I meet on the hotel van seem nice, but its just reality. I think Skywest grossly underestimated XJT's pilots resolve and if it dooms us in the end so be it but I'm not giving an inch.

unfortunately, I don't think we will ever be merged as one.

News flash: the companies have already been merged. If the labor groups don't get our acts together, they will just shut the company down in a year or two. We already are under one FAA certificate. There's no way to de-merge.

And really, I've almost gotten to the point that I'm hoping that happens. Two years from now, anyone who wants to go to a mainline carrier, and has a college degree and no DUIs will be able to. At this point, we may as well put this place out of its misery. I'm financially prepared for some quality time off until I get a better job.
