Here's a POV from a fellow Marine and 12 year NJA SIC still waiting for that upgrade. You will be held to the standards of a Lt.Col and treated like LCpl every day you are on the road. Just be aware there is good pay and benefits, but day to day life needs real improvement.
Aren't all the Gulfstreams with NJI?
I only knew one guy who went from the USMC to NJI directly and he ended up flying the Commandant's Gulfstream for a tour before retirement.
As far as being held to LtCol standards and being treated like a LCpl - - seems a lot of people find that to be the truth in the *civilian* world. The levels of responsibility in many workplaces isn't what you are going to find in the military.

There is no NJI. It's all NJA now. The Gulfstreams came from NJI with the merger.
As far as treatment, there wasn't overt mistreatment so to speak, however the feeling, the vibe, the culture at HQ is that pilots are not respected. I have been kicked out ofche lobby at our NJA facility in CMH because a passenger was coming out of he bathroom and they didn't want him/her to see me. That's how you are regarded there. Lots of vendors treat you differently as well.

Work rules may be worse than 2001, but I would hardly consider them bad. This month, I'll work 9 days (5 nights away), fly 14 legs, for 85 hours of pay (~13yr 7/7 Capt monthly pay at NJA). Thanks to our work rules, I've been bought off 2 trips, with pay. This opens me up for overtime (200% pay) opportunities, that could increase my pay by 10-50 hours...more likely I'll stay home and enjoy life.
Seriously, I would interested in hearing specific examples. I appreciate learning how things we're so I have a better understanding of where we were and where we need to go.

Do FO's that are moving on to the legacies have 121 PIC experience? Or does NJ carry a good enough reputation to warrant hiring w/o PIC time at the big 3 (or 6-7)?
If so, I could see allure to prospective FO candidates. Either things improve regarding upgrades down the line or move over to a major. Both good options that would be more attractive than languishing at a regional.

Expect min rest layovers in most cases - and if you fly the Phenom, make sure you are not claustrophobic... It's a bit tight up front!!!

I'm not even at one of the top 3 and at year 5 will probably equal or surpass a NJA Captain (except the large cabin) and nearly double a 10 yr NJA FO. (Where I would have been)
Better retirement, adequate medical, less work while at work, more pay. Sure the one downside, no more 10 hr layovers in Aspen.
With 15-17 days off a month, and the ability to cherry pick days off for extra curricular activities.
NJA is one of the better jobs out there, but take the blinders off man. Your obvious kool aid mentality reeks of someone who just wants everyone to believe you are so much smarter than everyone else. NJA had their 2 yr run at the top. Its over.

Are these published? I'd be interesting in reading both.
Sure, if you adjust for inflation, does NJA adjust their pay for inflation? For reference, my current 3rd year pay rate is $30/hr more than my seat paid in 2001. This doesn't account for PS/401k contributions.

You can't back that up.
According to the money that 121 made Pre 9/11, I'll make as much at NJA as I should have at American if I were still on a narrow body single aisle but adjusted for inflation.
AA actually makes much less than that now. Which sucks for those who went back and sucked it up after furlough making 75k a year for many years in the right seat... a period of time likely longer than you've had a Commercial Pilot Certificate.
