Three times (105% my fault). Other than that I have a flawless 121/135 record.
Previous "Failures" are a good thing as long as you can explain how you improved as a person and as a crew member/pilot. Frontier, or any airline for that matter, wants to see how you will potentially deal with adversity during your career as one of their employees. You are definitely going to experience another "failure", be it a training issue or an airplane system issue while out on the line, or an interpersonal issue with the myriad of fellow crew members you interact with during your career.

Can you take accountability or is it always the other person's fault?
Can you work as a team member towards a resolution or do you fixate on "who" is right vs "what" is right?
You passed subsequent, more challenging oral tests after your CFI. How did you improve yourself and your preparation for future successes after previous failures?

In short, look at it as an opportunity to explain why you are a better person overall.

Thanks for the insight. I'm actually glad I struggled with my CFI. It changed the way I studied for every exam...inside and outside of aviation. It helped get me though various 135/121 check rides with no issue.

That's a good answer. Frontier only cares about how you handle it and your attitude. Own up, don't blame anyone but yourself. Learn from it and move on.

Exactly what the others said. I failed a 135 ride, and my sim partner failed a 121 oral. I can not speak for him (other than that he is a great guy), but I just owned up, told them why I failed, and explained how that event reshaped how I prepare for any training event. We both went through training here at F9 without so much as a hiccup. We just buckled down and got it done.
Conversely, one fella at my interview endlessly complained about his bust. I think he was overheard a few times. He was not offered a job.

I must ask Barley, why do you say the pilot group has 0 leverage? It may be the best time in history to negotiate a contract. Great profits, low fuel prices, many pax, everything is pointing to a GREAT contract. The pilot group must stand together and negotiate what they deserve. Do not approach a contract with your mindset or you will fail. I believe Frontier is in a position to get a fair contract for the employee's and let the company profit.

Not to be cynical, but in general what leverage does a US pilot group really have at any US airline? The LRA and seniority system have for the most made us into an indenture service group. Unlike most professions, we can't simply go to airline B if management is not co-operating nor can we strike. I would argue that no pilot group has any real leverage regardless how unified they are. Sure, we can do things to be unproductive to an extent and hold signs, but that does not really have that much of an effect.
I admire the Europeans, remember when Lufthansa went on a strike to send a clear message?, European carriers don't seem to mess around.
Don't get me wrong, ultimately it's in our best interest as well as management to come to a resolution when it comes to contract negotiations. I would hope that we have a good contract negation and that our rates come up to at least industry standards in a short period, but I also know this management team has a history of not being as cooperating.

I believe right now the Delta group has some decent leverage as their contract sets out the profit sharing used for their union (hence the rest of the company matches it), and if this year plays out as forecast and next stays on track, their could be some very serious profit sharing to pay out in the next couple of years. Some think that wall street will not be too happy to see the employees earn upwards of 2.5 months of pay as a year end bonus each so there is some leverage to get that moderated prior to the release of the end of the year results so that at least mgmt can go to wall street and say at least this a fix is in the works.

How many 321's does Frontier have on the property currently? Where are they based at? Is there a pay scale for them?

None. System wide (supposedly). Yes, the same pay as the 319 and 320.

I'm guessing APC is probably not accurate then even though was updated in August saying nine 321's in 2015?
