FCFS Global Open Time is at 150%?

Same day Global Open time is VDA without the paper DH and 190%/200% premium pay.

Reality check.

1. Phone rings and then voicemail left with full details,
2. Watching open time and trip drops and no RSV coverage then the phone rings.
3. Sitting on a golf cart and CS provides full details and then told by pilot they will be at the airport in 5 hours ... dial tone!
4. Two days of VDA on schedule. Phone rings. Guess what? They are calling for a two-day VDA with a show time in about 3 hours. If it's 7:00 pm, it's a red eye! If it is 4:00 its an AM trip!

Details which were provided AFTER the company said they wouldn't provide details.

Some people are perpetually new here! It's really is just sad!

We lost out of base VDA and paper DH for the advertised improvement of Global Open time. Neato. Instead of a VDA to a local or someone that is out of base fishing we get straight time.

Super ...

All of which has ZERO to do with VDA. Some people are night owls, some are morning peeps. Just flew with a pilot who had plenty of sleep opportunity the night prior, but needed to "study the OH panel" 30 minutes into the flight. Good thing I'm such a nice guy.

And I wasn't barking up YOUR tree. You're not a habitual whiner.

Totally agree with you on this one 360. I VDA every day off at home and haven’t received one phone call in 2019. I would love to get that 2am phone call. To put yourself on VDA and then complain when they call.. come on that’s all we have to complain about on here.

You keep missing my point. I’m all for making extra money, but it needs to be done safely and responsibly. When scheduling calls you three times inside the WCOL for a morning show, yes I have an issue with that. Just saying that I’ll examine the overhead panel and find a way to make it through the day is unacceptable to me. I’m just saying this new premium open-time I think will allow for better planning and is a much safer practice overall....that’s all.

Getting called for VDA in the middle of the night has nothing to do with if the person rest or not. If you don’t want VDA don’t put in for it. If they still call set your DND. Global opentime doesn’t remove them using VDA. The pilots that will pick up at Global open time will. How can you get mad at the company for using another strategy to get people to work. If you’re getting mad at anyone it should be the people willing to pick up at 150 with no paper DH. It benefits the junior people that don’t get called for VDA. Sorry the senior people won’t be crediting 200 hours while junior guys don’t get a VDA call. I wish no one picked up Global open time since I get plenty of calls for VDA but I have to understand others situations or greed....

Some people are "habitual whiners". And others habitually make lemonade out of lemons, without ever asking why their peers get Brazilian steakhouse dinners but you keep getting lemons.

I wish you were 0.2% as smart as you think you are.

If you are putting yourself on VDA and you are complaining about this then I have no words, but if you are getting cold called thats another story. Funny thing is though at least for JFK (and i am pretty senior on the FO side because I do 4ish VDA's a month) I have never once gotten cold called. There are 110 people in base and at least 20 people with VDA on their schedule a day so there are no cold calls, captain side is a different story. But again you can use your noggin to have an idea of when the $$$ train is going to come calling based on weather, rsv grid, ect. When i know it's coming... I make sure I get rest.

Is there anything that will make you happy at this company?
