Why should they care when pilots are still doing stand-ups, RSA, VDA, still doing other people's jobs....

Stand ups? Are you talking about a continuous duty period after midnight? Like the round trips to the DR?

He is talking about a stand up, facing pax from the front of the cabin PA announcement with the same speech and jokes you have to listen to during a 4 day trip.

On a recent commute on us, the CA was at the door at boarding, helping people to their seats, gate checking bags!! and wanted go be the hero retrieving a left behind laptop at TSA. He was pushing wheel chairs upon arrival and had blue gloves on before I even got out of my seat. He was a check airman, but clearly also wants to be a FA, gate agent and wheelchair pusher.

Utter embarrassment! Have some f'ing pride in your profession!

Provided you’ve completed all your duties, I don’t have a problem with someone going up to find a lost item. There’s nobody else that’s going to be able to do that. Common courtesy if you ask me.

I agree about everything else.

Agree here. Since 99% of the time during boarding I'm twiddling my thumbs until the last minute or two, I often welcome the chance to get up and walk around... especially since we all know how roomy the front end of the 190 is.

I don't understand this whole "pax can't get off or on an airplane" if they habe a boarding pass. The pax could have gotten off, and they did, to retrieve their laptop, because TSA won't release an item to someone that doesn't belong to them.

“I forgot my laptop in security”

“Ok sir you have a boarding pass, go run up there and grab it and come right back **points at watch**, we’ve got five (insert whatever time you want) minutes until the flight is pushing back.”

“Ok ma’am I’ll be right back”

**said person never returns, FA and crew forget he got off**

Plane pushes back, 30 minutes into flight, it now is part of the 7pm news...

They can get off the plane all day long. Take boarding pass and check in with the gate agent. This was covered in recurrent last year.

I reserve all courtacies common or otherwise to be used at a later date when I feel it appropriate. I’ve not felt it appropriate lately.
