Again, I don't run away from my side of the problem. What we collectively did at the majors is 50% of the problem. You current and former RJ guys refuse to own up to your 50%.

You mean the same law of economics and nature that scared some major guys into voting for scope sales? Or the same laws of economics and nature that made other major guys vote for scope sales because they were at the top and wanted more pay? You properly rail against this when it occured at the majors...but you blatantly excuse this same behavior amongst regional pilots like yourself. See the hypocrisy??

You will need to create your own MCF as well.
Fine. Think of how quickly the MCF will build up without the bloated and conflicted monster that is ALPA national.

It is a horrible idea and it should be refunded to the pilots immediately.

That money is nothing but "golden handcuffs".
It makes ALPA afraid of any confrontations with management because they are afraid of losing it in a lawsuit. It paralyzes any progress toward resolving the conflict of interest at ALPA National because they are afraid of losing the MCF in a DFR lawsuit.
Plus the fact that they will NEVER spend that money. Too many high paid pencil pushers and paper shufflers in Herndon depend on the care and feeding of that fund for their livelihoods. If the bankruptcies of every major carrier and the loss of all our pensions was not a "major contingency" then those words have no meaning.

I'm not thrilled about the SLI either, but I would vote to fire anybody who spent one second of union time to ever go down that road.

On what are you basing this number?

And... as I have highlighted, it would be OURS. What's so wrong with that? We have been paying into this thing for how many years now.. for what again?

This is the one thing that would truly worry me about DPA. I hope the motivations are for the reasons that have been expressed by most here, but ALPA being the political machine that it is, and when some of those upper echelon guys get hurt they tend to want to strike back. I don't know that this is not one of those instances. I sincerely hope it is not, because I donot want to become another USAPA... A this point in time, it is probably the one thing that is keeping me from sending in a card. I am willing to give the new alpa president a month or so to at least make some noise about cleaning house, or I will send one in by then. I want to hear about some ****ed off secretaries and AV operators in Herndon... (and if any of them are reading this: sorry folks... just the way it is.. we all had lots taken from us, and your QOL hasn't changed.... I guess it really DOES roll downhill.... )

We are neither UPS or APA.

We give $23 million to NATL & use $9 million. That's over A MILLION A MONTH SURPLUS. I thing we can figure it out.

Are you suggesting that we just stay with ALPA, & that if we have expenses that exceed our dues collected that we just let other airlines (UAL, CAL, etc) pay for it?

Dunno. So if the expenses exceed our contributions, you're suggesting we use dues collected from other airlines to pay for them, right?

If we have our own union, those will be OUR costs. Apples to Apples comparisons need to include everything.
Yea, and.......we have a MILLION DOLLAR A MONTH SURPLUS. If our legal fees exceed that we're f'ed for sure.
