Delta Pilots Association

Well okay. Like I said before, it's certainly possible (maybe even likely) that some of the individuals involved with organizing DPA might have a problem with the way the SLI turned out. I suspect you could find numerous pilots on both sides that are not completely happy with it. But I haven't seen or heard of any kind of great divide in our combined pilot group with regard to this. It seems that most of us have moved past it... unlike the situation at US Airways. So, to compare DPA with USAPA seems to me like an apples to oranges comparison. While the two organizations may share some of the same goals, I don't think overturning the SLI is one of them, and it certainly doesn't appear to be one of the planks in DPA's platform.

23 million to run an organization for how many pilots. You are dreaming, it costs more than that to run the pilots union at UPS. If you want to do this you better come up with some realistic numbers. The IPA is currently at 2.25% Dues which may go higher as we enter negotiations.

Lets say 23mil won't cover it. You need to talk with APA to get their numbers. Like I indicated we at UPS are paying 2.25% which may go higher during negotiations.

Your match does not include all of our expenses. How much has ALPA national paid to defend and settle litigation brought by and against Delta pilots and ALPA on cases that directly involve the Delta & NWA MEC?
If we have our own union, those will be OUR costs. Apples to Apples comparisons need to include everything.

Although not directed at me, I'll take a whirl: What I have seen at former NWA base(s) is the majic marker graffiti that says something to the effect of
"ALPA the only union not recognizing DOH"
While this may not be directly related to DPA, "perception is reality" and "there's a little truth in everything."
Again, this DPA thing is not the same as USAPA, but there is likely some root in SLI dissatisfaction IMO.

And scambo, I really can't believe you're offering "majic marker graffiti" as reason to believe something.
Sigh,

When it came to this DPA stuff, I've argued a divided union is like no union at all. I think we agree we don't know what will happen in the vote, or what direction the F/A's will eventually take. I think it's easy to see that it will take time for either side to gain consensus, in any event, and this time will mean any restoration will be delayed.
