And a buddy told me 150-200 new hires next year. Does this bid mean way less or is it something less?

There were about 120-130 in the pool before this latest hiring spree began. There have been 2 classes so far, with 2 more scheduled (10/17 and 11/7). These classes will eat up at least 30-40 people from the pool.

The rumors I hear are anywhere from 135-250+, so it is hard to tell. This bid only covers training completed by May 1, so we wont know the staffing situation beyond May until the next System Bid comes out in January.

My personal guess is that hiring will stop during the summer, and re-start with new interviews and classes in the fall (Sept/Oct 2013 timeframe)

This should clean out the pool for sure
Given those numbers, is it safe to say the quickest road to holding a line is still on the 190?

This forum is for poolie info only. People should already know what they are getting into by coming to work here. Let's not clutter this up with the same message (that we have all been complaining about) and keep it on topic. Go to one of the other JetBlue posts and vent there. The poolies can and should read there as well.

Thats my guess. People will continue to bid out of the E190 for various reasons.

I'd say 190 will be the quicker way to a line. This bid moved me up 20+ numbers due to a few upgrades, base moves, and guys going to the 320.

Thanks Flyby1206 and usmc-sgt. Any idea on the final class size, plane/base breakdown for 17 Oct, or will that not be known until day 1 of class?

Congrats on the class date, welcome aboard!
I've been hearing a lot of talk about the "Blue Dart" advantage on this forum with respect to pilot employment with JetBlue. Can anyone explain to me what it is and what to do next if you are fortunate enough to get a Blue Dart? Thanks in advance!
