So you prioritize an A321 payrate over and above better pay, benefits, retirement, work rules, etc (for all JB pilots)?
The E190 in a JB context is a small narrowbody mainline jet. No different than using Southwest and Alaska airlines 737 rates in our A320 pay review. I don't think you want to take them out do you? By the way, do they pay more for a 737-800 or 737-900?

I agree all kinds of areas to fix.

I think 1206 is OK. But the rest only care about the Airbus and will push our union into prioritizing a higher pay rate for their 321 over and above improvements that we could ALL use. I agree with you, all kinds of things to fix that are far more important.

Could you get it through your pea brain that my and others insistence on higher pay for the 321 is because of our substandard compensation package? Good Lord you are narcissistic.

Most airlines DON'T pay more for a A321 vs. A320. Most airlines DON'T pay more for a 737-900 vs 737-800.
Now, lets fight for something the whole pilot group can benefit from, instead of a small group of A321 pilots. If you want to raise ALL A320 pay, fine, but not JUST the A321.
I haven't read my email yet, but if the company has now said publicly that you are legally covered to fly the A321, then I would think they would have a VERY hard time getting out of it in court, assuming they would actually do that in the first place.

But some do.....and rightfully should. You're talking about more seats and it should equal more pay.
But hey, if you had a CBA, you'd be able to negotiate appropriate rates for appropriate seats. Along with negotiating many other aspects of your operation. Unfortunately for now, you eat what they're serving (just like health care rates)....and deservedly so since your group turned down the organization drive last time around.
Wake up and join your unionized brothers and sisters so you can have a say in your future.

but thanks, I am not trying to **** anyone off, but just have a good debate. It's dangerous to say more seats should mean more pay. My previous airline believed this and was successful in taking one seat out of the plane to give us much less pay than rightfully deserved. Thinking seats are tied to pay would mean it would be ok to fly a 777 for regional wages if they only have 76 seats installed. How would we be able to come up with pay for cargo companies. Banded pay rates are important ( ie small narrow body, heavy, etc.)

This makes me think we base our payscales around the A320 rate, and anything with more or less seats in it is adjusted accordingly.
Yes, I fly it. A320/321 pay directly affects me moreso than you. What is next, criticizing those who push for international override since you dont do as much Caribbean flying?

And THIS is the crux of the problem. Basing pay directly on number of seats is a bad road to walk down. Does an A320/321 pilot deserve more than an E190 pilot? I dont think so. Air Canada Jazz used to have a blended pay scale that would adjust up/down based on number of aircraft type in fleet. If you had 130 A320s, 10 A321s, 60 E190s then you would blend the rates all together based on the number of each plane and get a CA/FO payscale.

I was just saying that there is a big split at Blue and it seems to really depend on what plane you fly. I think the Bus needs to pay more and if we brought it up to psia and fixed other things I would not be so upset about the 321 vs 320 pay. ie fix international pay that way everyone wins.
