There is so much movement and hiring going on everywhere. I just declined my upgrade class earlier this month on the ejet. Was offered a March class date with Virgin America a few days before I was going to start training. Spent 2 years at Mesa and finally winding down the last few days with them. If you don't give up on applying and keep on updating you will get a call from a major, trust me that's what happened to me. Never give up and get complacent.
It's been a pleasure flying with the crews here. They are truly amazing people to work with. Yes we do have our issues with management and contracts that need to be up to industry standards by all means possible. I hope that the company and work on this and realize the importance of of treating employees well. I hope all the best to the pilots and the crews here.

I actually live in SF so I am hoping for an SFO base. It would be a dream come true if I can get it straight out of training, but I have been hearing that JFK has been going pretty junior. Either way I am excited to move on from the regionals and really lucky that it was a quick movement from regionals to a major at a pretty young age. I hope that the majors pick up more of our guys so they can move on and enjoy better QOL. I'm also glad that there are tons of mesa guys at VX , so it will be welcoming to see some of mesa alumni that I will be able to work with.

Feb 18th class here.
We got our wine and dine from ALPA the other day and I noticed something odd.
I asked the same question 3 different ways and got the same answer.
Is it me, or do they love to hear themselves talk?
We get long winded explainations, but never an answer.
The question was:
Yes, we chose Mesa knowing the conditions, but what is ALPA doing to start getting Mesa to meet the trend that other regionals are offering?
I'm learning fairly quickly, that ALPA here does not care enough to effect change.
He was more than happy to blame the company, but the contract has been amendable sine 2010(?), I think.
I don't see any real information being disseminated out to us from the union or the company.
Just sharing an experience with everyone!

PAY WILL ONLY GET BETTER WHEN THEY CANT STAFF!
I'm not really sure why this is such a difficult concept to understand.

What you failed to understand is the question I asked.
That's the same gibberish answer we always get.
A company will never give more than it has to, is also the backside of that statement.
There is a reason for a union and it doesn't appear that ours is very strong.
The answer you just gave me is a standard brain washed - supply and demand rote response.
What is your Union doing for you to get you a fair trade for your time and effort.
It's not hard to realize that your Union sucks when the contract is out of date and there's no public show of them taking a stand.
Hell, even the union guy stood up in front of new hires and said he's going to a new company.
Don't blame the company for unfair treatment!
It's our responsibility to get our union working for us.

We've been answering and asking the same question for I don't know how many pages. Can we at least go back to trolling and random rumors.

But what you and your peers fail to understand, is what is motivating company to pay more? When you and others like you show up to class, there is no reason to make a better offer. The current book is getting the job done. I'll say this one more time.
PAY WILL ONLY GET BETTER WHEN THEY CANT STAFF!
I'm not really sure why this is such a difficult concept to understand.

Let me explain in a simple way.
If Mesa couldn't fill classes Mesa doesn't grow.
No more upgrades
Downgrades to follow
Mesa won't fulfill the contracts they have with mainline
Less flying=less pilots needed
The flying Mesa does for AA and United are the lowest paid contract.
In my opinion the only way we get paid more money is IF these contracts with AA and United can be adjusted. And good luck with that.
Unfortunately we will not see another TA for at least a year if not longer regardless of classes full or not.

Why do you keep stating the same rote answer our union gives us?
Are you the same union guy that spoke to us?
Where is the money If there is none?
Why isn't Mesa in bankruptcy?
More importantly?
Why do you believe that we should settle for that 9th grade answer they keep giving us?
It's an excuse given by the company that somehow has taken hold and believed by people like yourself.
The money is definitely there and is hidden in the percentages for several years.
