Thanks much! Any luck on getting ONT base or Socal Area?
1600TT
590XC pt.-pt.
300ME (250 PIC turbine)
100 night
130 instrument (27 actual)

Hi, there!

Your hours look good for a BE99 position and they're pretty close to a BE1900 position.
What is your PIC time? That'll differentiate between the two.
How much of the instrument is in the aircraft? Actual and hood together.

We have positions open in at our ONT base and would love to have you apply for one!

If a pilot has significant turboprop experience. Do you guys waive the PIC requirement for the 1900 or any of the other aircraft?

Hi, there!

It depends.
How much PIC time do you have?
And what kind of significant turboprop experience are we talking? How much? Which aircraft? What kind of flying?

Safe flying! :)

I really want to apply with Ameriflight but have a question about time off.

I have a vacation planned for 2 weeks end of March going into early April. Tickets purchased and reservations made.

Will I have to wait to apply until after my vacation or could I start sooner and be able get the time off? Not worried about vacation pay I know I would be a new employee but would lose a bunch of money if I can’t go non refundable and all. But I would hate to have to wait until mid April to apply.

Anyone know what their policy would be for something like this?

Hi, Lynn!

I would say to go ahead and apply for sure!
As long as we know about the time you need off and you're out of training, you can totally take it (non-paid unfortunately).
Training is typically 6 weeks, so we'll need to try to get you in our January class if possible.
But as far as simply applying, yes, go for it!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I have heard Ameriflight isn’t really compatible with commuting. Are there openings in BFI? I have a house in the Seattle area so moving is not really an option. Or somewhere else that I could commute from Seattle.

I have 1540 TT
Part 135 pt to pt 647.6
PIC 1405.7
IFR actual 25.5
IFR hood time 109.6
Multi 50.2
Night 75.0
SEL, SES, MEL, COMM, INST, CFI

Yeah, commuting isn't real easy. Particularly since most of our runs operate M-F or even Monday evening through Saturday morning.

FreightDogs can better answer the question of BFI openings specifically. Looking at your times, you're still about 25 hours short of 135 requirements for night time. We can probably get you 10-15 of that during training. And while your total and PIC time would lean toward a 1900 or possibly metro, you multi time probably will mean you would need to start out in a BE99.
