Only one or two tech questions? No sim? Is Bently getting soft? Surely it hasn't changed that much. I think I had a 20-odd question fill in the blank written, along with a basic attitude instrument sim eval.
You will want to be able to discuss the airplane you're now flying, have a solid understanding of winter weather hazards, their recognition and avoidance. And be familiar with the characteristics of a tail stall and its recovery technique.

Thanks very much for the input fellas.
Yeah I've definitely been hearing that Cape has basically totally eliminated the sim ride and any technical questions at all, they may casually ask you just a couple things about the type of current flying you are doing now is what I've been hearing is it for tech.
As a matter of fact, the pilot recruiter told me on the phone when setting me up for the interview that it was going to be an HR based/oriented interview. Also one of their current pilots who referred me to Cape told me that his interview basically consisted of a meet and greet and a very casual conversation about his flying career followed by a "when can you start?" and the interview was over.
Anyway any other feedback would be great. Thanks again!

Hearing a lot of good things about Cape. I currently have 670TT, 7.2ME, 4 year degree and a current job as a CFII. My FBO does not have a twin, as I realize my twin time can be a bit higher. Are my chances any good?

^This. Although I believe there is a training contract now, history has shown that low time FO's tend to get burned out and look for employment elsewhere. If you go to Cape Air and leave with no PIC, then you have truly wasted your time. I'm not implying that you would do the same, but that is the reason the company is wary of low timers.

Slats,
I went from the left seat of a 402 to the right seat of a 747, a couple guys who left 9K at the same time I did ended up on Boeing light twins at Omni, a couple fly buses out of BOS and FLL. Now, we all had RJ or turbine time to go along with the 402 PIC. I doubt anyone will go to a legacy directly from 9K, but every knowledgeable pilot I've ever talked to has the utmost respect for 9Kers. 402 PIC won't fill the check box on the HR evaluation form, but when you get to the interview, and especially the sim ride, it will open eyes and doors.
And in the meantime you won't have to eat Ramen noodles 3 meals a day.
PS - Bentley, you are soft.

I was wondering if any current Cape Air guys/girls care to comment about how the new contract has affected pay and quality of life. I'm especially curious about the Caribbean stuff. Miss all you people at 9K.

Some pilots are still frustrated about the changes in the Caribbean. But the senior guys got pay protected at their current level of compensation until the pay scale catches up with them. I would've liked to see everyone get pay protected down there, but I think the union is still working on that. There's been a lot of bumps in the road as they try to iron out the details of the CBA as far as interpretation goes, but so far the union has won just about everything they've asked for at the implementation meetings. Overall, I appreciate the value of working under the protection of a CBA, so I'm pretty happy. Personally the QOL has gotten better for me because they've increased the min guarantee, and starting doing things like Sick Call shifts, so I can spend them at home instead of in the crew room.
