Default Do not apply

For those of you considering Boutique, I warn you. This is not a good place to build time, you will have no benefits, no paid time off, no 401K and certainly a poor quality of life. The FO pay is less than 26K/year and captains 36K. The management only aims to take from you and you will be putting yourself behind by even thinking about coming here. This company will be belly up in no time flat. Go anywhere else. I beg you. Their planes are clapped out PC-12’s. You will risk your certs if you fly here. The DO is a joke, the CEO is oblivious and pilots are leaving in mass numbers. DO NOT APPLY. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. This is the beginning of the end for BTQ.

Just curious, if it's that bad, why do you stay there? They freed the slaves in 1863, they can't make you stay there?

I have left, and many are currently leaving. Inside source confirms this.

I'm in the process of leaving and can confirm all that. Everyone (apart from 300-400 hour internal customer service agents turned FOs) is trying to leave. CEO is reaping what he sowed.

Actually the way some of these 135 promissory notes (not contracts) read it isn’t always as easy as I quit... unless you can cough up 10-20k

while you’re not wrong, the majority of the current pilot group has fulfilled their obligation to the contract and can jump ship anytime.

Even if you can cough up that kind of money, its bad practice to walk out on your 'word'. I heard about an Aviate pilot getting dropped from the program for not fulfilling a commitment to his employer, in case good morals arent enough to dissuade anyone from jumping ship early..

10% of the pilot group is leaving in April alone. And I'm rounding down. Overwhelmingly PICs.

Without knowing specifics of the case you mention, if you fail to complete your obligation under the program rules you agreed to then they have the right to drop you. (“You” being the generic sense here) However, if you were brought in under the agreement of, let’s say a certain pay scale or expectation and then that company suddenly decreases pay (as Boutique did, I believe) and you can no longer survive and choose to find work elsewhere, you should not be penalized for it. I agree you would no longer be a part of whatever program, i.e. Aviate, but no one should ever judge that person as not having “good morals” for choosing a different job or career in exchange for better pay, QOL, etc.
