Just curious, during initial simulator training does the sim session have 2 new hires in the sim and they switch seats halfway through the session? Ex. 4 hour session 2 hours each each seat? Thanks

The current training footprint includes "Sim 0," which is four people to one instructor, no motion, get in and figure out how the seats work, etc, and each person gets a trip around the pattern.

Sims 1-8 are you and your partner switching seats halfway through with a short break in the middle.

We were told that company has no issue going to ten sessions for people that need it, and will do 12 for some.

Good luck.

Do you do the check ride with your sim partner as PM, or with a company instructor?

Thanks

You will use your partner as PM unless one of you needs extra sims, than you will have another instructor as a gear puller! But you guys will stick together from IPT on through.

Thanks for the replies, good insight. Glad to hear they do an icebreaker session to get familiar with the sim.

As long as you and your partner are on schedule, the checkride is with your sim partner. In my case, my sim partner quit halfway through the sim, so I had another instructor be the PM.

I thought I heard that 10 is the standard, with up to 12 allowed.
