I started new hire ground exactly 4 months ago, and in those 4 months I'd estimate that about 8 weeks of that has been training, the rest time off, all paid.

Not a bad deal, but at this rate it looks like I'd be able to hold a Captain bid before I've got the 1,000 121 SIC knocked out. (400 hours to go).

As far as US Airways, it goes:

Vacation Pass
Active Employees/spouses/kids
Retirees/spouses
Parents (if unaccompanied by employee)
Buddy Passes

Then in each of those 5 categories, ranked by order of check in 24 hours in advance. There is more than 5 categories but those are the top 5.

Initial training is in the 200, for now. Since PSA will have more 700/900's in the very near future, the initial training is transitioning to 700/900. I am not sure exactly when it will start, but sometime in the next couple months.

Have any of you been denied a jump seat anywhere because of the earlier vote?

Absolutely not.

I think that everyone realizes that if PSA had voted no, they would have shut the company down and moved the flying elsewhere (probably Mesa with an even worse contract).

never, in fact I had a Capt the other night make sure that he got their O2 serviced so they could take me. Don't believe all these jumpseat ghost stories on this site, they are so over blown.

That's not entirely true. I have heard two occurrences straight from the mouth of the people denied. However this was within a month or two of us passing the LOA.
