I opted to come in the night before for mental ease. It was a very simple process, all of it. Well orchestrated, solid team of interviewers on the panel, and written was exactly what the gouges prep you for. Offered an April 13th class date. Thus far it's been nothing but a great experience with PSA.
My interview is coming up on 3/4. How was the technical questions side of the interview? Did they ask quite a few or was it more HR type questions? Just curious.

I'll shoot you a PM. In short, it was pretty non-issue.

Wow congratulations! I have about 2 months to go before applying. Where did you get the gouges for the written exam as well as interview questions? Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

Agreed. Only information I received prior to interview was from aviationinterviews.com and right here on APC, and it was more than plenty to properly prepare me.

A friend in the training center told me that talk of street captain hiring is becoming very frequent.

Is PSA having issues staffing on the captain side? I would have thought with all of the hiring the 12-14 months, those hires are getting close to captain qualifications soon enough rather than street captains?

I do not think that we will have true street captains. However, I think there is a chance that prior-121 hires from late 2014 could see a Captain upgrade award before or soon after completing FO IOE.

Not in our contract. Only thing these guys can do is right seat check out with ioe, then upgrade to the left seat.

There are many FOs that have their 1000 hrs required for upgrade but for whatever reason are choosing to bypass, not everyone wants the left seat ASAP. So yes we can't hire street captains but they can run a bid and if there are open spots in the next upgrade class then any new hires with the required time would be eligible to attend the upgrade class in seniority order. They would complete IOE as an FO and then go right into upgrade.
