It sounded as if we were one of the very first to actually get the 700/900 with the 200 differences vs the other way around as it's always been, so you probably still are in the 200 group.

The 5 year thing is true, provided that the SSP increases this spring. If it goes up to 100 a year, it will be 5 years or less.

The failure rate is very low, and the training department is very good. You will get outstanding training and will be ready for your oral and checkride.

If you received info on the 200, you will likely be on the 200 first. It doesn't really matter which you get, you will finish all of the training on both before you hit the line anyways. I would prefer to have to 200 first, it is the harder airplane and you will have more time with it during initial.

Everyone passes indoc and systems. Systems is mostly taught via computer based training, followed by some classroom instruction on some of the finer points of systems.
Then on to IPT. This is where some weakness could be exposed. This is the first time you will bring it all together (systems knowledge, limitations, company procedures, flows, calls, fms, etc..) You will get 10 of these sessions to show pretty basic knowledge, not perfection. After the 10 sessions you get 3 days of what is called CSI. These are mini workshops focusing on FMS, IPT, and Indoc/systems. Weaknesses are identified here (they already know where most people will be week) and you work all that out in these 3 sessions. Hopefully lol. Some of the greener guys get 1 or 2 more IPT sessions. IPT is cheap compared to the sim.
After completing this, you will go to oral. Then after that, on to sims.
Today, the standard is 9 sim training sessions. Sim0 is just a fun flight where you do simple and fun things such as adjust your seat, visual landings, etc.. Sim 1-8 are your lessons. After that there is a checkride and a loft. If you are not ready at the end of 8, they replace your check ride and loft with sim session 9 and 10. Then the checkride and loft are rescheduled for the next week. Not only that, they give you a "warm up" session before the checkride. At this point if you don't pass, of course the examiner will "retrain" you during the checkride up to two items before failing you. And then if you fail I think as long as your attitude is good and you are making progress they may continue or they may say come back in 6 months don't know. Bottom line everyone from my class is still here as far as I know.

Supposedly, more than 50% of the people going to sims now gets 10 sims (plus sim zero and loft). 10 sessions in the "normal", and 8 is considered to be "accelerated".
There is a great deal more things that are covered in initial sims now as compared to the past. You will be exposed to several things (high altitude emergencies, multi system failures, decision making/PIC type stuff, etc...) that all take more time. It doesn't leave much time for you to practice for the checkride. If you are not ready, or there is even the slightest chance that you may not pass the check ride easily, they schedule you for an additional 2 sessions. It doesn't count against you in any way, shape, or form. It is considered "normal" training.
The theory is that with so many new people, and some people upgrading in such a short period of time, extra time is spent in sims covering additional material. They really want you to succeed.

Absolutely unfounded. My whole entire class has made it as far as sims. Maybe a couple won't make it out of sims, but the training program here is very good. Knowledgable instructors, and the program is set up for a 500 hour CFI to be able to get through and pass his/her oral and check ride.

Yeah..... I'll I ain't holding my breath on that one. They ain't going to meet in one day and boom here is your increase. It's going to take negotiations that will probably drag out and go into effect down the road.
