I would love to drop a resignation letter off..hopefully soon because this place treats its employees like ****...

I'm curious if you have any previous regional airline experience to compare to your time at PSA?

As far as Dayton goes, the economy has really turned around here and housing is some of the cheapest in the country. To each his own........
Tool of the day? Anyone second that?

You can't possibly be affiliated with PSA recruiting or management because if you are, you just broke company policy by engaging an employee in an extra-personal conversation in an unofficial channel where you allowed your personal emotions dictate a hostile attitude. Oops.

Just wondering what everyone thinks of new hires being upgraded immediately.

Can someone show me a model or just theorize how this is supposed to continue to work without imploding?

My thought: It is needed right now. Until we can get enough senior FO's to upgrade, it is either fast upgrades or stop the incoming airplanes. Nobody wants to stop the airplanes coming in, but I can see a delay occurring soon. Most of these guys upgrading quickly are really quality guys with thousands of hours and 7+ years in the 121 game. If they were less experienced, I would be frightened.

Real model?: Nope. Not really. We really need to get FO's on the line faster and get they flying so that they can get experience. There are people that were hired 6 months ago that haven't even flown the jet yet. That is crazy. They should have at least 200 hours in the jet by now. We also need to hire a couple classes of street captains or delay some of the 700's for a little bit to get caught up. Also, we need to entice the FO's that are on property and bypassing to make the move up. Some guys are waiting until they can hold a decent line. If reserve rules were better, and schedules were better, people would want to upgrade faster.

6 months from DOH to IOE is the only thing that is scary about this whole situation. There is no way anyone will get a solid foundation in their training footprint when you're forced to take 4-6 week breaks in between each phase. Instead of going full on and getting on the jet right after, you're stagnating your training and your learning phases - that's not good and creates a bunch of holes in the training and knowledge.

People are spending all this time on the sims going through emergencies and flows and all the intensity that comes with working towards your LOFT and LOE, and then you wait for months to get called for IOE?

How current are you really going to be to get on to the real jet now?

PSA basically took a bite bigger than they could have chewed and I don't even want to imagine how crazy this backlog is going to get. The intensive hiring didn't really start until the beginning of this year, and they still have Nov-Dec hires waiting for IOE?

Popcorn time.
