You mean to say PSA wants to hire 1000 pilots over the next 24 months. Whether they can or not is to be seen. From what I hear they want to ramp the FO classes back up starting in January to 20-25 twice a month. If they can't hit that out of the gate then there's going to be problems.

For PSA, the plan is to try to poach FO's from other regionals by offering them a quick upgrade to the left seat. Many will upgrade in 6 months once they come to PSA. This is something that is a pretty important recruiting point.
AAG has more or less taken over the recruiting for all of the wholly owned airlines. They have plans on what they will do when they start having a difficult time attracting new pilots. There is a list and a plan and with it, they will be able to attract new pilots to all of the WO'd.
Piedmont is not growing, nor is Envoy. Other than attrition, there is no need to attract new pilots. PSA is the one that needs to grow.

When do they usually let interviewees know something? I was told 1-3 weeks, but seems like they should let people know if they wee hired or not. That would at least keep them out of "limbo" or from going to another airline.

Think about this...PSA is getting 70 more airplanes. That means that Envoy will lose the routes that they are currently flying on the 700's, but what about the other 20+ 900's that are coming? Those will take over flying that other regionals are doing. It would not be hard to replace ALL of Air Wisconsin with 24 900's. It could also mean less flying for Republic or Mesa. With the reduction in routes at other carriers, look for layoffs and FO's looking for regional jobs.

The AAG plan is to park the props and replace with 145's - at a slow pace. In 2 years, they will be the same size that they are now. They MAY take more 145's from Envoy, but then Envoy will shrink further.
Any growth at the WO'd carriers will mean less jobs for non WO'd. There will not be any additional flying.

The airplanes coming to PSA do not even take Republic's problems into account. We've been picking up some Republic flying, most notably out of DCA for now. If PSA can keep hiring, then we could be looking at far more than 70 airplanes. It's a big if. But nobody knows the future and the pilot supply is finite.
There are going to be a few regionals that shut down. Some have already shrunk and look like former versions of themselves. The landscape is changing rapidly, a year from now the entire landscape will be unrecognizable.

Word is we really aren't getting the FO applicants we were even as short as 6 months ago. Of those fewer applicants some are not showing up to the interview and some are not showing up to class.
1000 in the next 24 months seems pretty optimistic to me.

Not sure what they expect. Other airlines now have are more to offer. Psa doesn't even cover the cost of the ATP written course.
