Is he CLT based? Isn't there like 50 FO's on reserve in CLT now? I would think you could be last out and take the month off.

I think the difficulty would be knowing if they're honoring the first out, last out calls.

I flew a trip with a very senior TYS CA who lives in Nashville and who is retiring soon. I pointed out we could do Long Call, last out from home and his thought on that was just as I stated: how do you know if they're honoring that?

I do think they honor that, at least in my experience. It also goes a long way to helping your cause if you are pleasant with scheduling on the phone. Be nice to them, and they will be nice to you.

They don't honor last out. I can guarantee you that. I've caught them blatantly lying to my face(over the phone ) dozens of times regarding last out.

There is no "bid reserve so you are at home more" here. It just doesn't happen. Trust me.

This shouldn't even be a discussion. If you can hold round one, just SAP down to 65 hours. You can get 17, or sometimes 18 days off if you can find the right 4 days. In this scenario you will be home A LOT MORE than you ever would be on short call.

I call BS.. I'm on SCR, and have between 20-26 days off every month, and thats because I call and beg to fly sometimes.

That TYS CA who wants to bid LCR and be last out is right, it wont work. LCR is called first, before any SCR, as long as its outside of 12 hours to show.

They do honor last out requests. If you think they havent, question them. You had better be ready to do some research and find who is junior to you, legal, and didnt get called. Also remember in the contract, it says they will honor it if staffing, and efficiency of the operation aren't compromise. IF its a two day, and you are the most senior SCR with 2 days left, don't be surprised if you are called if you are the only SCR with 2 days or less on.
