I think you missed the point of my entire post. Everything is a guess - I started out with that. The rest were facts as to what is currently happening. No one knows for sure, but there are things that you need to look at before making decisions.

Picking an airline to work for is a gamble, but it needs to be an educated gamble. There are lots of indications as to what the real health of a company is. Look at those, and you will have an idea of the health and future of a company.

Anyone with insights on:

1) flight benefits
2) route structure (is it predominantly east coast flying?)

Thanks

This will change as more 700's and 900's come on line and a new base is opened. Expect more flying to the West. The fleet is doubling in the next 20 or so months.

Why would a Mesa guy go to PSA?

There are plenty of reasons a mesa guy would go to PSA and probably just as many for a PSA guy to go to Mesa.

My guess is to retain CLT as their base.

We had a Mesa guy in our new hire training. He left because he didn't like it there. So yes, you are right about various reasons.

I only did a phone interview and start class Jan 5th. So that is correct that most 121 guys are not going to be in the actual on site interviews

For flight benefits, you and your spouse and kids (if under 24 yrs old I think) will get unlimited domestic free travel (space available of course) on US Airways and American planes as well as their express carriers. Your parents get greatly reduced flying. Most of the examples I've seen are about $70 for a 4 leg round trip. International travel is slightly more since you also have to pay taxes. Some places are really cheap, like Cancun ($50), others are rather expensive, like London ($250). If you're not married, you can designate a "travel companion" for your flight benefits. They will get to fly for really cheap....usually $5-60 depending on the "imputed value of the trip" (I have no idea how that's calculated...it's an IRS thing).

You'll also get 16 buddy passes to give out per year. Buddy passes get your buddies travel on AA and US flight as well, at greatly reduced price, but they are the most expensive....usually a couple hundred bucks, again depending on number of legs and distance traveled it seems.

What I'm still trying to figure out is why they have domiciles in DAY & TYS? By looking at the map, I'd understand DCA or PHL. Are there a lot of volume that moves through DAY & TYS that makes them more feasible as domiciles?

Theyre maintenance bases.
