Right now, our upgrade time is less than 2 years. It should hover around 2 years, possibly decreasing a little as more airplanes are delivered.
If we add another 35 CRJ 700s and 15 CRJ 900s,upgrade times will be very, very short.

I haven't seen all of Envoys numbers, but I think that they are losing close to as many airplanes as they are getting. They are losing 145s and 700s, but getting some more 175s.

So I finally heard back from PSA and it doesn't sound like good news .. they said " they are persuing canadites who appear to match their requirements more closely at this time" ... now I did apply with only 1385 TT. Does this sound like flat out rejection or do they want me to get my time up and closer to my 1500tt and apply again? .. I mean I'm a cfii/ MEI so I don't know what else they could be talking about ...

There are about 75 captains that have been here less than 2 years.

Short answer if you're the full ATP need to be at 1450 I think. I had guys in the class after do the ctp/atp. They got 10 hours there in the sim but if it wasn't signed off I don't know about those hours logbook wise.. Regardless you'll get I think 40-45 in the sims before you're ATP ride. So I'm thinking it counts just log it and when you submit the paper work the designated airmen here will make sure it's right. Best experience I've ever had man. We have some top notch guys here who flew with PSA for as long as the crj's have been here. They don't want you to fail but in that same regard don't think it's a walk in the park. Learn your flows and learn your call outs and take a deep breath before each maneuver and remember we have all been there.. It's 90% mental 10% fundamental.. Shoot you've seen Little Giants right?
Non Aviation Degree: 1500 for a full ATP
Associates 30: 1250 for a Restricted ATP. Must have 30 Credit Hours
and an Associates Degree with an Aviation Major.
Bachelors 60: 1000 for a Restricted ATP. Must have 60 Credit Hours
and a Bachelors Degree with an Aviation Major.
There are other requirements for Cross Country, Night, PIC and Instrument time.
Look up FAA Circular 8900.1 CHG 451 dated 3/24/16 for all requirements.

If:
- Hiring continues (it should)
- More airplanes keep coming (they should)
Upgrade time for a new hire should be near the 2 year mark.
YMMV.

It is more cost effective to have fewer regionals that are larger than it is to have several smaller ones. Management, training, and administrative costs are all less, plus they needs less pilots per airplane to operate effectively.
It is also more cost effective to have wholly owned regionals than it is to have private companies providing lift to the mainline carrier.
It is all about the dollars.
Having Envoy's 700's come to PSA will save $1.5million per month (according to management), and allows Envoy to take more 175's.
