So if the company gives a new hire $15k to sign on, and they bail after a few months, do they pay back $15k or just the $10k or whatever was deposited into their account after taxes? Something to think about for those who are thinking about doing the sign on and bail thing......not a good idea either way.

If someone isn't planning on staying, I think it may be a good idea to just not accept the bonus. If someone doesn't want to stay for two years, then not sure why they would want to work there at all?

Have considered couple times going back to airline flying. After experiencing a rough seven years in corporate flying I am headed back to the airlines to finish out my career. I read a post that if your not in the flow or OTS with military time your not getting on at American. That said I am thinking of applying here for the flow in case for some reason another major didn't hire me and I could use the bonus cash after going through my first unemployment phase of my career. My questions are: when are the next classes scheduled that are not full, current guess on upgrade time, and likely hood of getting PHL? I am just about to cross the 11,000 hour mark and have about 4,000 pic in the EMB145. Thank you for the help.
Not sure when the next class available would be. First of Feb maybe. And my crystal globe tells me upgrade is around 2 years for this next wave of new hires. Piedmont has similar pay, a PHL base and they are the ones flying the 145. I'd ask them. Best of luck.

18-24 months conservative guess, could be less if the classes stay full
Never for PHL, that's a Piedmont base
Anything else PM me. If you're looking for a referral I'm sure there are plenty of people here that would jump on it. I'm only good for info.
