The only problem with this is that it's not about the people behind you. It's the people in front of you.. one year of reserve or more to be round one. After 5 days of indoc I really doubt that you will need to give your mind a break. That is pretty easy stuff. There are thousands of pilots that spend Christmas in hotels. Not really a big deal.
