Hey guys
I've been following this forum for a while and PSA looks like a nice place to be. I'm a few months away from getting my hours and hope to fly for PSA.
I will be moving from CA so I'd probably live in base and avoid commuting. What do you guys think of the base you live in? I've done some city comparisons but wanted to hear from you guys who actually live there and see if you could list some pros and cons for your respective base as a pilot and the city as a resident.
I appreciate all the help!

Late March or early April. 35 CRJ 200s. Beginning with 1 a month.
PSA is preparing for a huge attrition in 2017 as the majors are really starting to hire. It has already started. If we can still grow when losing pilots to the majors, we will start taking 2 a month.

CLT and DCA will have a higher cost of living than TYS, CVG, or DAY. TYS is great if you're the outdoors type, right next to the mountains. CVG and DAY are the most jr. Short call reserve is 2 hrs with some hot reserve except TYS which is one hour but no hot reserve.
PM sent with more info.

TYS is probably the nicest, cheapest area to live. Ohio would probably be miserable for someone used to California, although I don't know much about the CVG area. The one big benefit to CVG is that you can hold it right out of training and get to be a line holder sooner than anywhere else. CLT proper can be pretty expensive but there are a lot of affordable areas around it, especially across the border in SC which is still only a 10-30 minute drive to the airport depending on location.
