Thanks, PSA help! Will be onboard in a few weeks and all this info is helpful. I have read most of old posts, just a few other specifics . . .
At what point in training do we learn what our base is?
Is Reserve in CLT (or other base) start out with having to report in two hours? How many days off on reserve to start?
Is the training timeline around 2 months, then IOE? Any delays right now with sims and IOE?
Thanks again

You will get an initial base assignment within a couple weeks of starting class, and it will be updated every 2 weeks or so. You could start class and be assigned Dayton. Then, 2 weeks later, you can hold TYS. Then, 2 weeks later, you could potentially hold CLT. So, it really doesn't matter what your first base assignment really is. You will likely get a few base bids during training.
You will most likely get SCR, or short call reserve, as your first schedule bid award. We did have some people come out of training to hold a line in the past, but it is doubtful right now. At that point, you will have a 2 hour callout (TYS is a 1 hour callout). Each month, you will bid for your preference, and you will be awarded whatever your seniority will allow. Some people get long call reserve (12 hour callout) or a buildup line within a couple months. It depends on your base and when you start flying the line.
The minimum time off on reserve is 11 days. There are ways to increase this. You will be able to move reserve days around (depending on the reserve availability). Some people will group 6 days together toward the end of the month, for example the 26th-31st. Then, they will bid for reserve that starts on the 1st of the next month. This will create a situation that results in being on reserve more than 6 days in a row, and the company will take one of those reserve days away. You get an extra day off, and are still paid the same amount.
The time that most people have been told for the training is ~12 weeks from Day 1 of indoc to completing IOE. This includes Indoc, Systems, IPT's, Oral, Differences, Sims, and IOE.
Right now, there is no gap or delay in the training process. You will likely get a few days off between ground school and sims, and between sims and IOE, but that is about it. They give you enough time to take care of any personal matters (laundry, swapping out clothes, whatever) and you go right to the next step.

Great! Answering a lot of questions . . . Here are a few more.
As far as lodging and expenses during training, any info there? Just wondering after the first 6 weeks in Dayton, and depending on the base assigned, should a new hire expect to have to cover their own lodging or get a crashpad while in training?

You receive full pay during training, and are paid per diem 24 hours a day. This ends up being 75 hours of credit for the month, plus $40.80 of per diem for every day of the month that you are in training. The training pay is really pretty good.
The company also has to give you relocation days in your base.
I really don't remember all of the specifics, but the way I remember it working is... Lets say you finish IOE on the 15th of the month. You are then given SCR for the end of this month and next month. The company must provide you with relocation days in which to "move" to base. Until they do so, you are paid 24 hour perdiem and given hotel rooms. There are some more specifics, but it is very generous.
There should be very few costs during training. Ipads and all training materials are free. I probably spent about $50 at Kinkos making copies and printing things, but that was for things that I wanted and were not required. I think I spent another $10 of foam board and tape to make a "paper tiger" in my room, but that was about it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 24/7 per diem PRIOR to the relocation days is only applied during a string of trips (or reserve days) and not on off days at home...I feel like their was some confusion over that issue in the past.

After that, I am a little rusty. I believe that it is... (someone that has the contract in front of them can confirm or give more details about it).
After training, and before your relocation days, you are paid 24 hour per diem UNLESS the company has positive space traveled you to and from your base. If you have to commute on your own, they pay you the per diem. If they positive space travel you, then you are only receiving per diem when you are in base for a trip or set of reserve days. (I think that is how it worked)
After your relocation days, you just get per diem when you are working and away from base, or anytime that you are in training.
The important point is, when you are in training, you get full pay and 24 hour per diem.

A few take aways from my interview on tuesday.
Study the gouge but we were told the written exam is changing. hint, hint!!
Training was briefed as 13 weeks. 5.5 in DAY, sims in CLT and CRJ200 sim in CVG
Looks like classes are running every two weeks. They had MANY choices available.
They discussed commuter policy, profit sharing, 401k and flight benefits. VERY impressive flight benefits!!
You are paid during training PLUS per diem 24/7 (as stated above).
AQP training is coming soon, but they werent sure when it might start.
I hope that answers some questions. Agree with all that stated above. Read this thread. I have been on APC for YEARS and I think this is one of the FEW threads that provides valuable info.
BEST OF LUCK!
Oh, and PM me if you have specific questions. I will do my best to answer.

Wondering how they calculate the "time away from base" to pay per diem. Is it-
1. From the time you report for duty until you come back to base at the end of the trip?
2. Chocks off to chocks on at the base?
3. Time to land at another airport on your first leg until you land back at base?
4. Something else?
Thanks!
