All of which the UNION has to agree to allow the company to implement, and which IBT was able to get, while ALPA was more interested in their mexican standoff with DS...

What's your point? you asked how the company could avoid some if not all of the those costs and I gave a few suggestions. Ergo the company isn't putting costs as its #1 priority.

Well, they had to send it out tonight, because I'm sure nobody will be at work on Friday. What a bunch of crap.

Actually its kinda interesting they place the furlough notice out now because they know that's going to **** everyone off, and we still have the Friday or Saturday of "super heavy flying" to get everyone home from their thanksgiving. I guess we are such a small factor in Papa D's schedule that even if a bunch of people sick call and flights get cancelled in the over all scheme of things it won't hurt anything.

I honestly think Delta has done enough of their homework and are prepared to just shut down the operation should a Christmas type situation come again. They are going to use us while they can, but I think they are prepared to pull the plug at anytime.

I think we could also see more furloughs until Delta decides to merge what's left(700s and 900s) with another carrier. The will merge the Active, or Current employees and those who are furloughed would just be cut off. That is if they don't just close the doors entirely.

Don't forget..we're off the list in 5 years..done byebye!

I'd be willing to bet there would be no severance or anything either..that's probably the likely scenario..they'll furlough everyone for 5 years..merge and then that'll be the end of it...no cost to the company

only problem is they will then have merged the senior pilot group and then will slap themselves in the head and wonder in amazement why are we still so top heavy all of a sudden?

I'm glad they put the list out when they did. Since I already knew I was going to be furloughed, it would've been on my mind over the holidays--now, not so much.
