I'm a Comair guy who's part of the Nov. 5th group. Hate to see this happen at Comair, but I did get hired at Mesaba for the 12/1 class into the CRJ-900. Seems like a good palce to be right now and a place that is growing. I've enjoyed working with the great crews here especially in JFK over the past year and a half. I will continue to pray for the company and that things will be brighter. Thanks for the memories Comair.

Oh my, my, my...... I'd wish I could call you guys out on this, but I am afraid that this isn't good news. Displacement is never good news for that matter. My guess is that they are going to downgrade more Captains. This will displace more 70/90 FOs which will filter down into FOs being heavy in the 50. A few days later you will most likely see a notice for more furloughs.
Like someone else said though, just as easy they could displace all 70/90 FOs to JFK, MSP, DET or MEM.
Delta absorbed the cost of Comair during the bankruptcy so essentially they have been using us for free since then. We are easily disposable. I flew into PIT today and again got that sick fealing in my stomach when I saw a completely empty terminal that was once full from a regional. Not sure, but I think that terminal is younger than Concourse C @CVG.
My family asked me tonight why I still work for Comair and I felt pretty stupid when I replied with an "I don't know."

Guys,
Talked to crew forecasting last week and it turns out this displacement is because attrition has not been as high as they were expecting the last few months so they are having to displace a few more to correct their assumptions. With that said, if I were a young guy with a year or less invested in this place, I would think about going somewhere else. Two reasons...1) you will always get the shaft being a wholly-owned as we are now seeing and 2) Comair has a very senior pilot group that will not budge no matter what. If you are looking for a stepping stone airline OH is not it. Just my .02 cents.

With 10 year captains in the 50 going back on reserve and 7 year guys still FOs, it's hard to believe anyone is still here besides guys over 50 years old with 12 years or better.

If my ATP written has expired since I've been hired here at Comair, will I have to take another one before going to another airline. I know the expired written is good here at comair as long as I'm employed, but can it be used at another airline?
