AA declaring BK ( which is seeming more and more likely by the day) won't affect the 824 who are slated to go from Eagle. That is pretty much written in stone.
However, the "on property by Oct. 11th" flow through agreement may-and most likely will-get eliminated. As it stands there are a number of factors which would nullify it anyway.
Either way, all of that pales in comparison to our shiney new TA. I don't think any new hires have been made aware of the new contract that is getting ready to be passed and the implications.
Among other things: we are getting a pay cut. Basically all ERJ pilots in the bottom 100 of the seniority list, including any future new hires will be paid ATR rates. Also, no yearly IAI increases since Eagle now claims that pilots somehow "owe" the company money. Did I mention that Eagle is also going to start parking the ATRs and 140/135s?
To those on the bottom of the seniority list...I would keep your resume fresh.

Every captain stays in it current pay unless, they move to other equipment, then the new seniority pay will affect them. So until that happen, a guy that started a CRJ training today will have CRJ pay unless he moves to other plane.
Other than that, NY and LAX guys will be happy with the EMB 145 payment since most of them just fly 135 and 140 which is a pay increase.
The IAI for this next year will be removed just for the CAPTAINS since they will have a pay increase. FOs will still get the IAI increase in january.
I will probably vote no for this agreement, but who knows if management accepts or no??
Just fly, do your work and when something happens then get worried.

I would be more concerned with how much of a decrease in salary Eagle will take when AMR files BK. The BK judge will have the final say. This will get very messy. All contracts can be voided or restructured once its goes to the courts. AMR needs to ensure they can reemerge from BK and spinning off Eagle was part of the plan.

You do understand that the judge will probably rule on industry average. So go look at our pay scales and tell me how much higher they are than industry average. Also, what do you think about RAH parking ERJ. Regionals would love to add AMR flying but AMR SCOPE is tight and 50+ seats is maxed out already and those airplanes have to be flown by Eagle pilots. AMR sitting in a good position to screw employees like the people think. Mechanics are starting to leave, AA pilots are retiring and they are now trying to train as many pilots as they can and they are starting to have an increase in new hire failure. Did I mention that they ATR are being a maintenance headache lately (more than ever). For AMR to move forward it will have to work with it's employees instead of trying to burn them further. Just wait until Oct 1, things will become interesting.
Oh, and just found out today that the 824 flow-throughs are not merger protected. Meaning if AA merges with anybody at anytime it will void that flow agreement and the Oct. 11th one as well. With BK looming there is no telling what the courts will do as part of AA's restructuring but a merger is not out of the question. Nor is any further meddling with Eagle.
Remember, we have not been divested yet, are still part of AMR which means they and the BK courts can do what they want to us.
