There’s no “recall” when the airline closes shop.

Of course. You know exactly what I’m saying though.

I think that closing the doors will be our fate. The only people left after a furlough will be 18 year captains and 8 year FOs. All getting 4 weeks vaca and max 401k match and defined contribution. I’ve said it a million times but some people on here don’t grasp the finances of that. This place is surely doomed, any corporate finance person has surely already crunched the numbers.

I hate to see XJet going through this. I’m wishing you all the best. What was one of the best regionals at one time has been completely beaten down. Skywest was the worst thing to happen to XJet, and now this. It’s sad to see. Hang in there.

Quote: Oh? You’re saying you have a copy of a document that states what you’re claiming? The plan so to speak? Plenty of former ASA pilots did in fact make a career at ASA. I think we even have some still here way over 30+ years. A pretty good run for them. Just because YOU feel they’re keeping you from advancing or moving On is YOUR problem. You should have been aware of that when you came aboard, whatever airline you’re at. You sound more like an entitled individual, that you deserve more. Why haven’t you moved on if you were so dissatisfied at XJT?
Lol. Sorry if I stuck a nerve with you. I didn't fall for the trap of a regional and stay content. I worked hard, got out and flying for a Dallas based 737 carrier. Not doing anything to better your situation and sitting on your butt at a regional not only hurts yourself, but those trying to move on in their careers.

Quote: So you'd cross a picket line to feed your family. Noted.
\We are talking about voting for concessions. There is no strike action pending. Choosing to vote for my personal interests, instead of whats best for the profession is different than crossing a picket line. Don't be over dramatic.

Im not a one dimensional person I have many more employable skills than just being a pilot, this career is fun but its not my existence.

Quote: he just doesn't get it. If XJT guys take concessions to get cost below C5 it would be better to just shut down and go to Republic or Skywest. Senior guys advocating for concessions so they can stay senior even if financially they'd be better off starting over someplace else.
I get it. I just don't agree with your point of view. It's all going to be moot anyway.

Quote: I still have 35 years left in this career so if it comes down to it I’ll vote for concessions to preserve my company if it comes with guaranteed flying. Our Jurassic seniority list has had 40 years to make their money and move on. The ole timers will likely vote No because their careers are almost over and they have nothing to lose at this point. Not me, I still have a future ahead of me and a reduced income is better than no income because no one is hiring for the foreseeable future. Flame away...
