Headset? Whatever you have. I use the same Bose X set that I use in GA flying. I've seen guys with Bose Xs, A20s, Lightspeed Zulus, Clarity Aloft, and a few David Clarks.

As for time logging...it's all logged for you in our scheduling app, just click on 'Crew Time Report.' I should probably get around to transferring all my Skywest hours into my actual logbook...

Welcome aboard! Whatever you do, don't look too closely at the burgers they serve late at night at Lofte's...

Bose with a uflymic. I had the aviation Bose and it was a waste of money.

I still use a paper logbook.

Uflymic. Ugh.
If you are a person I like, sure I'll spend four days blowing my ears out with white noise to hear what you are saying. But otherwise you will need to say everything twice to me while holding the mic closer to your mouth.

I second that emotion.

Don't look at the burgers too close huh? Maybe I'll opt for the chicken sandwich!!!

So you don't keep track of your time? What if the company messes it up? Won't that effect your pay?
Thanks!

So... No uflymike? I heard they are coming out with anew one in a month or so?

You absolutely need to keep track of your time here. I just did it out of habit due to my previously airline being Mesa and thus it was essential to keep track of your time.

SkyWest is much better at avoiding errors than Mesa but it still happens more frequently than you might think. I audit my times every month. One day recently I was shorted about 20 minutes due to ACARS numbers not matching my logbook. A while ago I was shorted about 35 hours of per diem.

I use logbook pro for my logbook. Now that I am going to job fairs and filling out apps I am so grateful I started my flying back in 2001 using logbook pro as my e-logbook. I thoroughly recommend an e-logbook. Which one depends on you, how much you want to spend and what OS you like.

I've never heard anyone complain about the Bose Uflymike combo. I've had mine for a couple years now works great in both the CRJ and 175.

For you, being on the other side of the plane, I just turn the IC off, the sound of your saliva pooling in your mouth is a bit much. I see one of those set ups come out and I implement the IC off protocol.

There's two reasons/fixes for that... You can adjust the gain on the mic. I'm guessing these guys have theirs turned way up. Secondly at least on the 175 you can turn the inter phone down and problem solved. I've flown with plenty of guys who use them and I've never had an issue.
