Yea if the grid becomes an issue you can always try to use the trade board to get down to zero. Thing is these days why would anyone pick up a trip from you on the trade board and get straight pay when they can get 200% by keeping the days open. The trade board doesn’t seem like a great only option.

So the whole month could be red at the get go?

Good point. When premium is flowing it becomes more difficult for sure.

there’s no red or green on our trade board. If there’s a pilot willing to take or trade your trip and thier legal the company has zero input. We can also split trips but I’m not a huge fan of that because it kills rig. Are you saying your trade board is also grid dependent? That’s kind of dumb if that’s the case because why should the company care if someone else is willing to cover your trip if thier legal?

Bad choice of wording. It’s not a trade board like trade with pilots, it’s essentially a drop board. We can drop any trip that is green. Nothing to do with pilot trading trips with each other. It’s a drop board. So for CAs currently, the board is almost entire green if not entirely green, so a CA can drop all of their trips to 0 credit and have zero obligation to pick anything back up

Tradboard has nothing to do with the grid it’s pilot to pilot. It’s on flica same as JetBlue.

A drop into opentime (company) is dependent on the grid which has to start the month as 75% green and the levels are based on historical averages. They can’t just make every day green by one to start

That make more sense. Thanks. Is that normal for most domiciles?. Mostly green mid bid period?

That’s for the arbitrator to decide after we state our case. Also how about making legacy pay as an FO (also complete speculation) so commuting to upgrade doesn’t become as important.
They suffer from the misconception that the junior pilots would just be bumped out of their base as though vacancy bids, displacements or flushes aren’t things. The first is a given and the latter range from possible to unlikely.

They also forget that JCBA’s take time, SLI will almost assuredly be settled through an arbitrator and fences would probably go up as well. Meaning anyone with a modicum of time on property, and certainly those with enough seniority to drop their entire schedules and fly 7 days a month would most likely upgrade in the junior Spirit bases in South Florida.

Particularly with the attrition rolling through the FO ranks and making ripples with the junior CA’s. Yes, anyone in indoc today can probably assume upgrade will be in the NE B6 bases. Maybe. I’m
sure SoFL will still be junior. But the consummation of either merger possibility is still years from fruition.

If every JB guy can understand this and communicate with their NC to try to work with Spirit NC to agree on implementing this in a JCBA then im all onboard. If this is all about money, then you all should apply to UAL or Delta. 100% of the people I know that have applied there over the last year have been called within 3-4 months and are hired! I believe if JB pilots will work with us and spread the word to their fellow pilots that we have a great system here and to adopt it while still getting a pay increase, it can work.

Otherwise, JB combined with Spirit will just be another airline, no QOL, no ability to drop, etc. Might as well just leave and work at the big 3 and get paid for it.
And you expect this to all be worked out by June 10th? Good luck to you...
