Most Benevolent and Glorious Leader Chairman Ackerman knows what is best for all: Throw out the CBA work rules for the benefit of the company, but don't ask for any compensation outside of the CBA for bailing out management's incompetence on the backs of the pilots.

At the end of this, the upper-level managers still be millionaires and we will still be some of the lowest-paid Airbus pilots in the USA.

Really, quite the opposite! Most Glorious Chairman threw out provisions of the contract designed to help prevent fatigue, and then placed all of the burden on those pilots to fly until they are too fatigued to fly any more. Pushing the boundaries of safety to bail out management's incompetence doesn't sound like a SAFE operation. They know full well that a lot of the pilots are going to fly fatigued, because pilots are mission-oriented and typically do not call out fatigued.

Why is ALPA not out there rebutting these claims by point the finger in the right direction. Pilots just sold out to get flights off the ground yet we're taking the PR blame, and they're still not flying!

ALPA is far too busy chasing Middle Eastern carriers and promoting the new DAL TA to expend resources defending Spirit pilots. Ain't got no time for that!

My phone hasn't rang for the last 5 days. I am still very junior so I expected several JA calls that never happened. I don't get it.

According to Comrade Chairman, your relative seniority no longer matters.

ALPA national is not there to defend your MEC's actions (which from the outside looks pretty undefendable anyway) and/or your corporates PR blunders and/or random press speculation as to why the Spirit "ULCC" model is failing under a summer stress test.

Instead, your MEC should be meeting to make sure the press gets it correct as to what's going on at Spirit, and like some other posters have said, all the extra flying done at 200% (like most every other airline) and get your negotiations back on fast track.

Blaming ALPA national for your situation is not really relevant.

BTW, ALPA national hasn't sent one piece of info for/against Delta TA, only DALPA MEC. That's the way it works.
