Never said I was pro-PBS, simply suggesting that with the right monetary incentive (40% payraise) and contract language, it doesn't need to be wholly discounted. Yes, I've worked under PBS. It was a huge concession and everything everyone has said about the deterioration of QOL and lack of transparency is accurate.

So you're saying that there is a per/hour rate that you might consider PBS? That's all I dared to suggest as well. I think we all know though, that the company will never offer us anything close to the rates to make the suggestion of PBS anything other than laughable, so this is all really a non-issue.

PBS sucks. Spirit 3 year FOs making 50k less per year than their legacy contemporary also sucks.

No Dead, it was sarcasm, tongue in cheek...

I would be a firm "no" with any TA that included PBS.

Do you have some crystal ball that shows what a ratified pay scale would look like? Your opinion is very defeatist.

I will say if our fo rates were comparable to market the upgrade would be less important to me because my upgrade comes with a commute for an indefinite period of time.

No, what I'm saying is slowing the upgrade (via PBS for example) will not make up for whatever gains are made to FO rates. Any FO on property already shouldn't vote to delay their own upgrade if they are looking to maximize their income.

The Best and Worst Airlines - WSJ

"Fast-growing Spirit Airlines , because of its small size, wasn’t required to report consumer information to the DOT in 2014, but will be in 2015. Still, flight-tracking services found Spirit’s on-time-arrivals rate lower than its competitors."

I think we know we're dead last, so I guess there's no reason to confirm what we already know??

Sacrificing FO rates for one's own upgrade sounds like the IGM (I Got Mine) mentality that continually screws the guy below you. I know that's not what you mean to suggest, and I see your point, but we'll need to make this an appealing place to work when the upgrade dries up (Since upgrading is what we have to do just to make what legacy FOs make).

PBS won't make this an "attractive" place.

Yeah, I'm not advocating sacrificing anything. This discussion seems to revolve around making the most money and I am just reminding everyone that the highest pay rates would be great, but slowing advancement to get them (via work rule modifications) would potentially cause FOs to make less money - not more - over the course of a career. To have the highest overall earning potential, you have to be in the left seat. That is true at all US airlines.

The company needs to figure out how to bake a bigger pie for all of us.
