I'm not sure why anyone would listen to a flight ops management conference call and expect anything less than management spin.

Also, as it has been said before, if they do follow through on their threats anyone with a 13 or 12 day off line will get their two days of flying dropped and that is a huge portion of the pilot group.
12 or 13 day off lines?! I hope they don't start pulling that crap in Vegas. This is something that needs to be addressed in our next contract. Min days off for all line holders should be 15 and we need a much higher daily min. That should fix that problem. 12 day off lines.. That's awful.
Quote: What's the source on that? I don't see any exceptions for training in 25 or 11. I haven't seen the arbitration award.
Always been like that. Training and Transition

13 for line holders and 12 for reserve on a 30 day month
Stock has rebounded and up 7% today. If the company wants to start with the "guerrilla warfare" tactics come negotiation time, it may hurt their financials.

Baldanza himself owns millions in the stock.

I understand that those are the min days outlined in the contract. My point was that that hasn't been the case out in Vegas and it sucks that they are building 12 and 13 day off lines (other than reserve) in other bases. We need to improve upon the daily minimum and min days off for line holders (and reserve line holders for that matter) in our next contract to prevent this from happening in the future.
Quote: Those VA rates are 30% higher than our current rates for many of the years in which we have the bulk of seniority on our list. If you dont think 30% hourly increases on DOS (without losing QOL or work rules) to the majority of the pilots with a vote, wont get voted in, I disagree.

Im sure the senior Daddy's and Mama's in FLL and DTW wont like these top end rates, but their vote is in the minority now. Like it or not, this is how it is now (not knowing your seniority, just general observation).

Would I love to see Delta rates, of course. Do I think rates like these with DOS increases will get voted in, yup, I do. A 4th year CA will have the choice of $131 an hour or $171 an hour, you dont think they are voting yes to this? Honest question.
Well I guess if the majority wants to settle for similar rates to these, then this will be all we have to look forward to. The rates in the current CBA are flawed in that the longevity increases are non-linear. Fixing that is important. VX has new rates coming soon, great for them. But do you really see VX as a peer pilot group? We fly the same airplanes yes, but while we are about to have our 3rd CBA become ammendable they are only just trying a 2nd attempt at unionizing. JetBlue is closer, but still working on a 1st CBA. When you consider the growth and profitability of Spirit, and the maturity of our collective bargaining, I think there only 2 peer airlines as we go into negotiations, SWA and Alaska. What do you all think?
How about all the FO open time in FLL for Feb..... "Just One"

I would vote "no" on Alaska rates as they would leave us too far behind. Don't settle, we're worth more.

And....still voting "no" on the current TA. We shouldn't be doing scare tactics.

Yeah, this sucks. Hopefully, some lines will pop up after IOT. Reserves are green the whole month.
