If this is true, he very likely doesn't mean a pay raise as in a new contract but a raise as another company acquiring Spirit.

I'm at the point where I almost hope this is true. It may be our only hope.

Outside of limitations and flows which new hires are expected to know day one are there any systems books or FMS books you guys recommend before showing up. I've heard that AB FMS messes a lot of guy up in the sim.

I would not bother with MCDU guide. If you have experience with any other FMS, the transition will not be hard. You will have lots of opportunity to practice on the CBT after class if you are still struggling with the MCDU. The A320 iBook is great, just may be too much info for a new hire.

The only way you're going to learn the FMS is by working with the FMS. It's a decent system, not as intuitive as a Boeing FMS but it works.

So don't sweat it. Know your flows. Know your flows. Know your flows. Know your limitations. Know your flows.

The FMS you'll have plenty of time to get to know.

Oh, and know your flows.

This about sums it up. If you show up on day 1 knowing the "expanded" flows it will make your life much easier. Also knowing the oral exam guide is a major part of training. If you know that guide you will defiantly pass the oral.

You don't get paid during ioe as a new hire? Why?
