Spirit of NKS, Part II

Do you have any numbers on the attrition? Just wondering.
Like I have said before, if you don't have your app out at a legacy, you are doing yourself and your family a disservice.
I think many will be disappointed in what is presented to this pilot group in regards of compensation.

There's a growing sense of resentment and disillusionment among NK pilots. That interview is a 2 way street; a candidate asserts their conviction and faith in the company, only to see that commitment repeatedly dishonored.
The hiring stats are indicative; most regional captains no longer view Spirit as a viable career airline. Some are even reluctant to accept the job and are wise to assess the potential career impediment as it is likely better to beef up the legacy resume with Line Check Airman or other opportunities at their current airline.
Many of the best and brightest are leaving. I've come across two mil guys that are on their way out shortly. (I didn't even know we had that many mil guys here
)
Guys should direct their efforts towards DL and UA. AA won't be hiring much off the street until APR/MAY 2016.

Yes it is. I came here when most of the majors were recalling and there was only a trickle of hiring off the street. Also, this was the first place that called, B6 was next when I was a new hire. Didn't make sense to leave for them.
There are only so many regional pilots the mainline carriers have to pick from. If we do not get a quality contract here, it makes no financial sense to be here considering the difference in career earnings a pilot could have at a legacy.
Many don't realize what a huge difference in your retirement a DC makes compared to the 9% match we have.
Even if you are in your mid 40's, you can still retire at AA in the top 1000.
No need to flame me just because I think my financial security will be better at an airline that pays way more and has a better retirement. I just don't think that NKS has the critical mass to be great for 30 years.
When I am 65, I will let you know how it worked out

That's great, as long as the economy doesn't go to hell again (and you know it will). I'd much rather be here than on the bottom of a legacy list when the sh!t hits the fan again. Ask the AA guys about those recalls, and USAir guys about their pay rates until recently....and UAL guys about how much they adore their management.
I am just saying that airlines go in cycles and right now I think it is in a sustained upswing for hiring for the foreseeable future. If you put your apps out and never hear a thing, that is good if you like being here, but if you have an opportunity to interview someplace with better pay, retirement and security, then you can make an informed decision of which place will give you the most of what you want.
As far as what UAL guys think of their mgt? Do you really think you will retire here with Ben as your CEO? Mgt changes all the time.

It amazes me how many Spirit pilots here conflate criticism of the airline with personal attack.

My frustration has been growing for a long time with the current contract and my speculation as to the next contract. I am at the point now that I will vote no to any TA that is not industry leading in all areas. Yea, I know I will get grief for saying we need a industry leading contract if we are stuck with it for 5 years plus, but with the industry leading margins and industry leading management pay, I will hold out. So I am guessing already what my vote will be. Since we never got the Quid for the contract relief last summer that we were promised, I am now holding out for massive gains. Goodwill right?
