Why do captains feel the compulsion to adjust the out time to reflect an "on-time" departure?
It's seems to me the temptation would be to stall for one extra minute and have late departures every leg every day.
Don't you guys know you're just helping Euro and Bendover look good and sabotaging any leverage we have with their obvious lack of crew staffing.
Aren't we trying to show investors how screwed up our management really is? Even if you're not inclined to slow down a little bit and be extra safe, why do you feel the need to go into the ACARS and adjust the out times when you do run naturally late?

On the other, other hand, I had an FO take it upon himself to start amending the out because he wanted to be "friends" with the agent.
Anyway, actual out for me.

Personally, I like the out time to reflect the actual out time. Changing it, as you point out only covers up the problem. On the other hand, causing a delay screws no one but the gate agent who may have actually done their job.

But if we are ever going to get a TA that reflects our worth before 2020 then guys around here are going to have to sack up. Who controls the parking brake? We could make management take notice and come to the table in just weeks if we could collectively stop cutting off our noses in spite of our face.
It's not personal to the gate agents. I have no ill will towards them. But what are our priorities? Our families or the gate agents?
I appreciate that you get the big picture. I wish more did.

I'm amazed you guys go out on time. I probably send more delay reports than anything when I actually do go to work, lol. I don't delay, or stall etc, it's just we are always waiting on something, lol. I'm surprised anyone changes the times too, the company doesn't really pressure us to go out on time, why break the rules?

WTH,..I still don't get it. Are you saying that if you want to be one of "the four" pilots picketing you will have to arrive by plane?? Why can't I just walk over from the employee lot? Do you wear tinfoil?

I'm saying unless it's done in miramar we won't be picketing in FLL so FLL based pilots will have to get on a plane to participate

He's saying only 4 at a time can picket, so if we had a picketing event in FLL it would basically look ridiculous with only 4 pilots picketing. If a FLL based pilot would like to participate they are going to have to do so in a different city, thus get on a plane to picket!

I think we should picket the job fairs.
As for the FLL four pilot rule, ok, let's keep four pilots out there all day everyday for a month. Make a sign up sheet with day's and times.

4 at FLL all the time would look like the handful of wall street protesters that were still there a year later IMO. Power in numbers is the key.
