So it’s only attainable for over half of the seniority list?

Sure. But there’s only 120 DEN WB FOs and 50% seniority is about 5000.

I’m not trying to dissuade anyone from coming to UA, but coming to UA based on the opportunity to snag a quick upgrade in a historically senior base is setting up for disappointment. Maybe this environment still exists next year, but also, perhaps upgrade goes more senior and DEN gets more senior over the next year.
Yeah, but JR WBFO and JR NB CA would be a wash.

But yes, I can see the upgrade times trend up after the contract is ratified.

Even fewer than that, 104 787 FOs in Den with just 81 line holders.

I think DENs time as a historically senior base is done especially when the contract is signed.

This new contract allows PIs to fly as CA. Pay will be 90hrs at 12 year 320 CA plus override. I think you will see a lot of current CAs go BACK to being a PI for QOL……I may be one of them.

also, DEN is getting crazy expensive to live in. Unless you are already here it’s dang near impossible to get in.

IF current DEN CAs start flooding into TK upgrades will continue junior.

New contract allows some (a minority) to fly as CAs.

explain? That’s not how I read it.

my understanding is that if you can hold it you can fly it.

Incorrect, talk to your reps and listen to garths podcast. You are going to have to have some qualification that we will find out about in about 3 weeks. The rumor is 1000 pic at company.

Denver is probably the only base where we have more pilots living here than are based here(at least until MCO/LAS opened) When the slightest hiccup in the economy takes place this will all change especially if a ton of PIs get kicked back to the line.

thanks…..I actually think that is a great thing!!

my point still stands though….a lot of the PIs that have left to be Captains have 1000 PIC now or will soon.
