Not that I've seen any announcement in my inbox or online that he's running, but I’ll take Insler at the helm of ALPA vs. the likes of Barton any day. Insler got the company to see the wisdom of being in position for a recovery. He thought outside the box in keeping every United pilot employed, on property and ready to go for the expectant growth. And guess what? Many of you are in your new CATs, including those higher paying CA seats, because of that LOA which couldn’t have been that bad because it passed something like 58-42 IIRC. We have those same extremely junior pilots who would have been furloughed, including friends of mine, now upgrading when they were looking at years on the street. And based on perusing the bid awards, some of those anti-LOA “no” voters found themselves nice cushy WB left seats to boot. To me that’s a pretty good argument for success, not to mention those hundreds of millions of dollars in grievance awards he won FOR THE UNITED PILOTS! But I’m sure you’ll give that all back because he wasn’t good at his job and you didn’t deserve it.

I’ll definitely take him over Barton, an unhinged, reckless, hot head who belongs no where near any leadership position in the cockpit, at an LEC/MEC or as President of ALPA. Don’t take my word for it. Trust the military’s findings in his responsibility for causing two planes to crash off the coast of New Jersey. Still don’t trust the military? How about Barton’s own words when he resigned in disgrace and said himself that he wasn’t worthy of representing pilots. But yet, he came back again (“Please, sir, can I have some more?”) and was recalled by his own pilots. Bet you didn’t nor won’t see any of these facts in his campaign fiction.

Fake Gardner Barton is retiring at the beginning of October before the BOD dates according to the seniority list. Good. It’s about time. Hope he enjoys his retirement and sticks to sailboats.

was that TI or Kirby with TI taking orders.

the mgmt doc on negotiation objectives seems to suggest that mgmt is setting the agenda.

Insler wouldn’t recognize leverage if it bit him. He’s a laughing stock.

His letter can start with, “The non ALPA American pilots saved my bacon.”

I’ve worked with TI on ALPA committees. Us SWA guys came from other places just like you.

So few pilots have actually attended a union meeting that it’s not surprising that nobody understands how union policy and procedure work. To your point, the NC is completely out of touch because the MEC failed.

The current MEC had the opportunity to stop this thing cold, yet they didn’t. Line pilots should have never seen the TA.
i am glad we got to see the TA. I had very little idea of what they were actually trying to achieve. And yes, I talked to my rep and got some general “this is about QoL”.

as mentioned numerous times, this TA makes QoL worse. At least we know now how foocked up all of this has been. I wish we would have found out earlier but better late than never. Otherwise the same characters would continue this debacle.

You most certainly are entitled to your opinion and I’m fine with that. But not sure why you throw in gay innuendoes to make your point but to each their own I guess.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion but once the Covid money was approved and it was approved in a timely manner to which no furloughs would have ever happened. And if 2-300 had been released in that Nov/Dec timeline they would have sat home and been paid by the Covid money. But if that narrative you mention is your beliefs so be it.

No pilot would have lost their houses or their Corvettes or Teslas. Simple as that.

And arguably we now have maximum leverage ..

I know there are calls to clean house but look at the con letter and note the small group of reps that tried to protect us from this TA. Then point out who on that list is going to move us forward when we vote this thing down.

i would suggest for the council 11 Vice Chair. I would take her in a knife fight over any of the others.
