Not to change the topic but:
I’m a current regional FO with >2,000 and no failed check rides, does anyone know if there’s an appetite for hiring someone like me at Alaska? If so, are there good practices in getting my application noticed (outside of actually applying online and going to industry group events like WIA and NGPA)?
I know there’s a bit of frustration with pay negotiations and QOL at Alaska currently but my family and I need to relocate and it seems like the best move for our particular situation

You can definitely apply and see what happens. They do seem to be wanting people with some TPIC, or having at least began the upgrade process at their regional. That said, I know of a few regional FOs who got on on without any TPIC, but that’s been the exception rather than the norm. If you do get an interview, just really highlight the fact you want the PNW and you should be just fine.

Super helpful, thanks Fargo. Will keep that in mind if I get a call!

We could use a timeline for grievances in the new contract... I have one coming up on 4 years now that has been in "mediation" for the last year.

Also, since 3rd step was never implemented shouldn't we be wearing the orange lanyards, since that was the agreement that prompted the removal?

At your experience level, to get hired, you have to fill a need in the HR department. Ordinary line pilots who dont fill a need require more time and usually are line captains

Not to worry, you’ll be competitive at United or Delta.

I’m a recent hire. 24, 3,300TT, low TPIC but I have it. Two types (E175 and CRJ). They did like the PIC experience at the 121 level but their were some in the interview group that didn’t have any PIC at all and got the call. I know all of us with PIC got the job. You can get the interview without it.

The trick to getting an interview at Alaska is not about your flight time or airline experience. It's about getting a chief pilot meet and greet. If you know someone at Alaska that can set that up for you. Another way you can do chief pilot meet and greets is at hiring or career events. Thats the best way at getting a shot!

Volunteer experience is highly valued at Alaska. Also here's a great podcast about Alaska's hiring boards: Talking Flight by Mike Swanigan, episode 52

I’m at QX and curious what to expect of air group. They said today they need just 60% or so of the pilots we have no by years end to staff the 33 E175s. Makes me nervous about coming to Alaska via pathways. (Still a year or so from that). Is Alaska gonna stop hiring/downsize soon too?
