I'm sure Omni got paid up front for the paint, lease, crews, etc before they even stepped foot in Bolivia. B.O.A is government backed and the only FLAG carrier for the nation holding 70% share in Bolivia's Air travel. Not dismissing your concerns but I'm sure whatever the terms of service are Omni has the upper hand in this one.

I heard it's just Bolivia-Madrid for now, with possible future expansion to JFK and another US destination if they're pleased with the service.

It was initially signed as an 8 month contract. This contract was negotiated with the sole purpose of being TDY for just the pilots. There is the possibility of extending the contract, but I'm pretty sure that's standard for all Omni's contracts.

For those of you still thinking about coming to Omni in the future, this means that you if you get the 767 you WILL be sent on a 90 day TDY, if this contract gets extended. There are no provisions to get you home on days off or send your family to see you while you are gone. Just something to think about for those of you still wanting to look at Omni.

Probably not any extra pay for being gone for 3 months either or per diem on your days off I presume. Will pilots be able to at least break guarantee?

hotel paid for, per diem the whole time away, 90-100 block hours per month --- 3 days off in Madrid in a row - half the slots were bid for - the rest were junior assigned

Hotel and per diem is a given, but 90-100 hours a month is simply not enough to be gone 30 days a month. That only equates to your standard 3.33 hours per day at the very best. Pretty raw deal to be forced to do for 90 days.

You'd think........ but we were flying for a "government backed" operation as well and figured we had the upper hand up until the day we pulled the plug for failure of payment.

Good luck and well wishes!
