But I doubt there’s more than a handful of people that SJS would affect how they vote on a contract. You’d really turn down a raise or QOL improvements (or add concessions) over the opportunity to fly a random airliner? Who gives a ****

Besides, the company is going to buy what it’s going to buy anyway.

Lol sorry that was a little poke at the diehards and I wouldn't be shocked that a few would do that. I'm in agreement with you that it wouldn't be a meaningful number. We've already saw that in action when they threatened to cancel the 737 order if we didn't vote yes. We said no and they still bought the 737s, but said it was different deal to save face. Im with you, I couldn't care less what I fly, as long as the pay/benefits are there. An airliner is an airliner, they're all mostly boring.

Why that fact (which is also outside our control), would affect anyone’s decision making on contracts is something I do not understand.

And, again, the company will buy what it wants to buy regardless of what we do. So I don’t really understand the devil’s advocate’s position.
Not sure how we got here on the New Hire Class Drops thread, BUT

How about the pay rate for the 350-1k?

In the contract comparison document that DALPA recently put out, there is a very obvious "TBD" next to the pay rates for the 350-1k.

I agree negotiating based on aircraft orders is dumb. I'm just being pedantic. SJS would be chasing 220's just to fly them at the same rate for the sake of flying a shiny new jet. 787's to replace ER's at least do come with a little bit of extra money.

Don't mind me, I just woke up on the "I wanna argue on APC' side of the bed

What does RG have to do with a podcast about fleet strategy? And how is listening to the podcast drinking Koolaid? It's just information that is probably more accurate than anything you'll read here.

I'm guessing you don't read the Weekly/Monthly updates because they're all Koolaid?

I don't know where this 1500+ number is coming from, it will most likely be maybe ~800 ish if that.

Posted numerous times over on the latest and greatest thread. Managements marching orders are to run it lean for the foreseeable future. Of course new management that can all turn on a dime

A hefty 787 or top off 350/330 order expected EOY + 20 35K’s & another 20 options to be considered going into late 26’ will affect things too.
Max 10 is still about 18months + out, we might see some MAX 8s roll in though before that but it will be a relatively small number (13-15 maybe) to take over the SAQ flying. MAX 8 can do all of that stuff we've already looked at it

7M10 expected to be certified in 2026. When it does, Delta has proven it can ramp up hiring instantly to meet needs. There will be a ton of growth here.

If you think they’re going to retire a 757 for every A321N that arrives then you’re correct - but they won’t. The 757’s will last into mid 2030’s.

Airbus has been able to double the production capacity of the 220. This fleet is pure growth until 717’s are parked (no time soon).

The 20 options would be pure growth - which is was the original 20 35K’s are.. pure growth. The 35K will also return DL to Singapore, India, middle-east, etc. and increasing capacity on SYD, JNB, ICN, LHR.. allowing a lot of 359’s to deployed elsewhere when those come.

A 50-60 787-10 order plus option will replace the 763’s and options for growth. This will cause massive growth in the WB paying fleet + capacity increase. Similar to how much of UA’s 787 order is majority replacement - as 2026 is the last year until United begins to retire the 767’s and older 777’s.
Give me some of that hopiun you're taking, this is wildly optimistic and not really reality based

from flight ops? Unless it’s an AE or financial numbers no. If it’s from ALPA or fleet training yes. If it’s from flt ops I scan through it for a few seconds realize it’s the same BS every week and use my time more wisely. The approach podcast was in direct response to the engage podcast. Doesn’t take much thought to conclude what the goal is. But hey if you want to gobble up all the stuff they feed you be my guest.
